Hi members, I'm having a problem with a second free DropBox account.
I haven't used it in a while but it isn't idle as evidenced by the login bot response comments.
When I try to log in with my original e-mail and password I get the following. "Invalid email or password"
Then I used forget your password and the comment than will be "If a Dropbox account exists for corne.xxxxxxx@home.nl, an e-mail will be sent with further instructions." No e-mail was received.
Address of email name "no-reply@dropbox.com" added. But still no e-mail.

Then try to create a new account. Then the answer is "There was a problem completing this request."

I would like to be able to use my own email address again, but there is no way to get help if you can't log in with your own address or if you can't create a new account with your own email address.

Can someone help me or have the right people send an email to the address I'm logged in with. So that I can prove that I am the owner of corne.xxxxxxx@home.nl. And either that my account can be used again or so that I can create a new account with this email address.

I hope for a quick solution.

Hi @ZulaZabor 

 

How long ago did you log in? If its over 12 months your account will have been deleted. The error 'invalid email or password' would be a correct error in this case because the email is invalid - i.e. the account was deleted and no longer exists.

Hey @ZulaZabor, if your account hasn't been inactive for more than 12 months, can you also try to login from a different browser or a private browsing window, just in case?

Hi Hannah,

I have tried logging in with MS-Edge and Google Chrome, both failed.

Also with the lost password reset request I don't get an email.

I also can't create my own new account [corne.xxxxxxx@home.nl] . Because then another error occurred.

 

So; Switching browsers did not work

Hey @ZulaZabor, sorry to jump in here, but could you send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting when trying to create a new account using the email address in question? 

 

Just make sure to omit any personal information shown there.

When did you last log in? Your account will be deleted if it has been inactive for more than a year. In this case, the error 'invalid email or password' would be correct because the email is invalid - i.e. the account was deleted and no longer exists.

Hi @ZulaZabor, as it looks like you're trying to use a mobile browser, could you try using an actual desktop machine to create the Dropbox account on the Dropbox site?

I only use a Desktop machine and have used several different browers all with the same result
