Storage Space

Hi Guys,
My local Windows Dropbox is fully synced with my online Dropbox. Windows Explorer file/properties shows my Dropbox folder is 576 MB but to my surprise, dropbox.com and dropbox app both say my dropbox is full. I have checked the plan tab and found my regular file size is 3.4 GB which is not correct. My shared folder only takes less than 100 MB. What is going on here? Why the discrepancy? Any inputs?
Thanks,
Tao
Hey community,
A few months ago I installed my Dropbox. Ever since it's downloading stuff into it. But when I open it up, it's always empty. It says, that it is completely full and I have to buy myself more storage.
Below I added a picture of it to visualize my situation.

You likely activated the backup feature. Check your Backups page.
I have the same problem as many of the other accounts in this thread.
I have a ghost Backup file somehow taking up a ton of my available storage space. I have tried the steps here but there are no backups to delete, and my computer (correctly) shows as disabled / not being synced under Manage Backups > Open Backup Settings. No Show Deleted Backups option. There are no files in my general Deleted Files page either.
Could someone from support please e-mail me and help get this fixed?
Thanks so much.

Thank you to both Megan and Peter for helping fix my ghost Backup file problem.
Everything looks to be back to normal.
Much appreciated!
Hello all,
I am getting super frustrated with Dropbox, I have deleted and unsync, files and folders. there is barely anything left in my Dropbox and yet, I get the same message over and over upgrade your Dropbox.
I feel like it's like a money-making machine. This pushes me away to actually use Dropbox at all.
Can anyone help?
Hi @NelliHegi, welcome to our Community!
Can you check the plan tab in your account settings, and let me know what it reports there? If you were excessively over your allocated quota, you'd need to delete a lot of files, in order to free-up your space.
Or perhaps you have any active Backups enabled. Also, where do you see the message about upgrading your account?
Let me know what you find!

Hey @prb0310, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
Is it possible that it's backup files that are taking up your space?
What do you see on this page?
