Hi Group! We had to reimage a computer because of a bad hard disk and now that the computer is back online we are trying to relink the Dropbox folder that lives on an external drive. There's just too much data for the DB folder to live on the small internal SSD drive. When we signed back into DB and tried relinking the DB folder from the external disk, the DB app is stuck spinning at starting. And all the folder icons are spinning blue with the sync icon. it's been well over a few hours with no avail. Anything else we can try?

Hi Everybody,
Our company has been using Dropbox for some time now and all of the sudden we've been experiencing a problem lately where all of our Online Only files in Dropbox, for whatever reason, are being downloaded as Local causing our hard drives to fill up. This has never happened in the past. It's been about 2 weeks now with this problem and to fix it, we've had to unlink the accounts. Restart. Delete the DB folder. And sync up everything as if it were for first time use. We have terabytes and terabytes worth of data in DB which our depts share among each other. So to resync these folders during work hours can be a real pain.
Per this link, https://www.dropbox.com/help/desktop-web/smart-sync-files-downloaded it asks to check if we have:
Applications that back up your files (Which we do not)
Antivirus applications (We use SYMANTEC ENPOINT PROTECTION - Managed)
Third-party applications that store files in your Dropbox folder (No 3rd Party)
Applications that automatically create a list of your recently used files (these can send a request to the file in Dropbox, similar to the request that gets sent when you open a file) (THE ONLY THING WE CAN THINK OF IS THE RECENT ITEMS OPTION WITHIN THE DESIGN APPS BUT THAT DOESN'T EXPLAIN THE OTHER FILES AND FOLDER USERS NEVER ACCESSED)
So we wanted to reach out to see if anyone else is experiencing this same problem and what they may have found on their end. Because it's becoming a real crisis for us.

Guys, sorry for the delay in responding, but yes, i have to say that since the 10.13.4 update to High Sierra, we are finally seeing some relief with Smart Sync. I tried installing DB a couple of ways just to be sure. We tried installing under a new image. New install. Clean install. As well as an upgrade in-place. Yosemite to High Sierra to be exact. So not sure what's happening in your environment. Give us a little more detail. Maybe we can figure it out for you

Folks, quick FYI here... We just noticed Apple released 10.13.4. So in an effort to stay up-to-date around here, we installed it. As soon as we logged back in we recieved the following pop up:
This appears to be the normal behavior in allowing these blocked system extensions in High Sierra that we haven't been seeing or getting with the Dropbox installer. Now i know this was after the fact, so come monday i'm going to reimage a computer fully with 10.13.4 and then try and install Dropbox. I'll let you know if successful. STAND BY...

HOLD OFF! We're on 46.4.65 and it's still a problem. We had one the other day where no matter what we did, or how we configured it, we could not get Smart Sync to work. In the end we had to use Selective Sync and told our users to just bring files down one by one as they need them.

YES! We know about the VNC problem. Found that out the HARD WAY! But yes, problem is when the app asks you to enable in System Preferences, and nothing is there to enable. Per Screenshot:

We too are seeing the same exact problems. We are now in High Sierra 10.13.3 using Dropbox app v43.4.50. Problems still persist with Smart Sync and sycronization. I believe there are screenshots to this discussion you can reference.

And a quick screenshot here of what's going on. When we enter the users email and hit connect, we get the prompt to open System Preferences to enable Smart Sync. But when we do, we see nothing to enable. High Sierra 10.13.2. Dropbox client 41.4.80. Please Advise :
