When I try to add an attachment from dropbox to a mail in gmail, I receive a message in gmail "can not upload the file". This error occurs only on one smartphone with android 12. If I do the same , with the same dropbox and google account, on an other android phone (android 11 )or an android tablet, there is no problem. Both phones have the same app version of gmailSolved52KViews5likes257CommentsPDF files open as read only on Acrobat Reader (on Android)
I haven't had any problem editing PDF files on my Android tablet until now. I simply opened dropbox, and opened the PDF in Adobe Acrobat from dropbox. Lately, when I open a PDF in Adobe Acrobat from dropbox, I get an error message telling me I can only open the file read-only. This applies to all my files. When I open a PDF directly from Adobe Acrobat, I don't have this problem. I suspect this is related to a recent update of either app.Solved30KViews5likes40CommentsUnable to open Excel files on Android Dropbox mobile app - Office login loop
Hi, I have a free dropbox account and have used it for years to store a few basic excel spreadsheets that I use daily. I have a paid Microsoft 365 account that I use on my android phone and lenovo laptop. For some reason the last few days, I am unable to open my dropbox excel spreadsheets on my phone. When I try to open the spreadsheet I get a log in page saying "Log in or sign up to Dropbox to link with Microsoft Office Integration". I log in using my dropbox user and pw and it just sends me to my onedrive. I have tried deleting the dropbox and 365 apps on my phone and re installing and logging in. I have tried to open the dropbox files by going into excel first and then trying to open the dropbox spreadsheet. Just always sends me to the log in page. It all works fine on my laptop, and after saving, my dropbox android app shows the newly updated spreadsheet. Dont know what has happened. Please help.11KViews4likes75CommentsDropbox on Android suddenly unable to open protected Word document
Hello. I've had the same password protected Word doc in my dropbox for years now. On the same Android device I've been using for years as well, I am suddenly unable to open that file. When I try, I get a "File type not supported" error. There is no "open with" option. There used to be one. I have tried reinstalling, wiping cache and data, etc - Dropbox app as well as Office and Word apps. I have tried unlinking and linking Office and Word to Dropbox. On my device as well as on the web. I have tried saving the file to device. There is nothing wrong with the file. I can open it just fine from Dropbox PC. I can also open it on my phone from the Word app. When I try to open a non-protected Word doc, I get a preview. And only then does an "open with" option appear. Solutions desired: Setting Dropbox Android to open Word docs in the Word app by default rather than trying to give me a preview. Also, reinstatement of the "open with" option outside of doc preview. (This has completely disappeared for all my Dropbox files, not just this one.)Solved16KViews2likes30CommentsCan't edit then and SAVE (not save as!) Office documents on Android. Please help.
I'm not a tech guru, but not a complete newbie either. I have the standard free Dropbox (140.4.1951) on my Windows 10 laptop (all automatic updates). Dropbox app on my Samsung S10e (running the latest version 12). Office app (all in one) on my Samsung. I also have (as a test just now), the Word standalone app. TEST 1 I opened the Dropbox app on my phone. I could see all my files. I opened a Word doc using the Office All-In-One app. I made a simple edit. I could not save the edit unless I chose 'Save as'. I didn't want to Save As. I wanted to edit my Word document, save the changes and then open the file on my laptop. TEST 2 I opened the same Word doc using the standalone Word app. I was asked to login to Dropbox to complete the pairing with Word. To my surprise, the edit option was greyed out. TEST 3 I opened the same Word doc using the Office All-In-One app. For some reason the edit option which appeared before is now greyed out. What am I missing? I've searched forums, checked settings, all to no avail. Please help.6.6KViews2likes6Comments1Password not syncing to Dropbox
Integration Affected 1Password version 7.9.4 Device Google Pixel 9 Pro Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Android 16.6.3.855170483-release-arm64-v8a175632286 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 458.2.4 Question or Issue I recently noticed that when I open the 1Password app on my Google Pixel phone I get an error message saying the following: Sync error There may be a temporary problem with your network or the Dropbox server. Please check your connection and try again after some time. The version of 1Password I'm using is old and is no longer supported by them. The new version requires a subscription service. Also, the Dropbox account I have is the basic account, and is not the subscription service. Could the fact that I'm using an older version of 1Password and my Dropbox account is the basic one, and not the subscription service be part of the problem. I'm thinking of dropping 1Passwpord and using a difference password database. Has anyone else come across this issue recently?Solved227Views1like6CommentsDropbox Passwords UI issue on Pixel 9. Search and Save buttons in the notch area aren't clickable.
I'm having a usability issue with the Dropbox Passwords app on my Google Pixel 9. The search bar at the top of the app is placed directly in the notch area, making it impossible to tap or interact with. Similarly, when creating a new password, the "Save" button is also positioned in that same top area – meaning it can't be tapped either. As a result, I’m unable to search or save new entries. I've cleared the app cache, removed and re-installed the app. I've restarted my phone and I'm still getting the same issues.724Views1like21CommentsCould you apply to become a Cloud media provider for Android?
Not sure if this fits to the "Integrations" Category, but yeah, change it if you feel like it's wrong. https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage/shared/photopicker https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/providers/cloud-media-provider While uploading a photo to an app, photo picker interface opens. This interface (from what I can see, this looks like a new feature of Android) allows user to pick a photo from their Android device and lets user to do his action. Anyway, I met with this recently and there is an option to select the photo from a cloud media provider; where I expected to see Dropbox among the cloud service provider options, but Dropbox wasn't there. Seems like you guys have to apply to be shown as cloud service provider to Android, and seems like application can be done from this form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1MGECQc2N-UnYFF5DIxeRq7AjrJ9bh_3KmoWsK8dq9ZM/viewform?pli=1&pli=1&edit_requested=true So yeah, please apply, so that I can pick my photos from my Dropbox account with this interface, so that I can upload them, or send them or whatever action I wanna do.2.8KViews1like11CommentsEditor Android apps are NOT saving a Dropbox opened edited file
