Dropbox Finder Extension doesn't work and I have no Dropbox context menu items on new installation
I just installed to Mac OS Tahoe. I no longer have the "Make Available Offline" Feature available to me when I right click on a folder. All of the Dropbox list items are now gone. There's no way to push any folder to sync. When I go into system settings - general - login items & extensions - extensions - Dropbox, the "Dropbox Finder Extension" button seems to automatically turn off after I turn it on.
How to share a Dropbox folder between Windows and Linux installs on the same PC?
Currently it is impossible to share a Dropbox folder between Windows and Linux installs on the same PC. They appear to contain the same files with the same metadata, but Dropbox for Linux refuses to write to an NTFS partition, and similarly Dropbox for Windows refuses to write to ext4. Is there a workaround for this? I don't want two copies of everything. I have been a loyal Dropbox user for years because I believe in supporting software that does one thing and does it well, but this "no mixing filesystems" rule means I have to choose between Dropbox and my dual-boot. I would love it if I didn't have to choose, and I'm sure I'm not alone!

The Dropbox folder icon appears as a blank page on my newly-installed Windows 11.

It is all working, except the Dropbox icon itself is wrong in Explorer for my Dropbox folder. It is just showing a plain white piece of paper. Again this is a brand new system with a brand new install of Windows 11 Pro that I did myself - nothing weird, I didn't use any of the means to "debloat" - it is just a default Microsoft Windows 11 24H2 install. I had the problems on 24H2 and it upgraded to 25H2 the other day and that has not changed the issue. It is more of an annoyance than anything because my eyes are used to looking for the dropbox icon appearance to find it and the plain white paper doesn't stand out so much.
The Dropbox app throws a startup error on MacOS 13.7.1.
After about 15 years using Dropbox on my iMac (now with OS Ventura 13.7.1), for the first time it is giving me an error message right after it starts up. It immediately closes after an error. Tried rebooting the iMac multiple times already, and did a reinstall downloading the lastest version from Dropbox website, nothing worked. Important information: nothing changed on my MacOS install in the last few days to provoke this kind of behavior from Dropbox app. Nothing changed on my personal home network, neither on my firewall and no new routers/modem, no new network settings to create this problem. Didnt install any new app on my iMac lately that could have affected Dropbox install. I would greatly appreciate if someone could PLEASE help me solve this. Im really lost, cause Dropbox has been working perfectly for me on both my Windows and Mac machines for over 10 years now!! Heres the error message: This pops up one or two seconds after the Dropbox icon appears on the top bar. After the error message appears, Dropbox freezes and I cant even access the settings option to try some solution. The app closes right after i click on "OK". Here´s the transcription of the error log file the above message box gives me: Any HELP, please???
Finder context menu missing for Dropbox files on macOS
Hi everyone — after migrating from an iMac to a Mac mini 2024 (M4, 32GB), Dropbox sync works but Finder integration is gone. I first saw this on macOS Sequoia 15.5 and I’ve since updated to macOS Tahoe 26.1 with no change. Online-only files in my Dropbox folder show as 0 KB and download/open fine on double-click, but there are no Dropbox right-click options in Finder (no “Make available offline”, no “Online-only”, no Dropbox submenu). Tried: enabling Dropbox File Provider in Login Items & Extensions, granting Full Disk Access, relaunching Finder/rebooting, and full uninstall + reinstall from Dropbox .dmg. Still missing. I even contacted Dropbox Support and they haven't given me any solutions yet. Has anyone found a fix or workaround to restore the Finder context menu actions? Thanks!
