Hello Dropbox Team! I backup up an external hard drive with backups beta and my disk failed, and now I have to download all in badges to recover all my disk information, could you please add an option to restore a backup directly to the disk or maybe add the option of having the backup on the Mac finder to just access the files there and copy them to my new external hard drive ?Syncing Cloud Folders with External Drive
I am backing up folders to an external drive by manually clicking the folders and choosing "Download" and pointing to where I want them on the external drive. Is this the right way to create a backup? I want to be able to sync the files between the cloud and the external drive, is that possible? When I plug in the external drive, I do not get the "back up this drive" option. Thanks!66Views0likes6CommentsViewing backup files on mobile app
Hi, all! I have some old flash drives that I just backed up on my MACBOOK. They appear in DropBox Backups. I can’t figure out how to view the backups in my mobile app. I can see the file names in my mobile app. But, when I click on them, it simply takes me to the general list (camera uploads, documents, etc.) TIA!Solved10KViews0likes12CommentsBackups do not display on website.
I cannot display my backups on the website. The URL that is not working: https://www.dropbox.com/backup/all?_tk=web_left_nav_bar See screenshot below. That is what I see at the above URL. Here's what I have tried: Three browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge. This fails on all three. Signed out and signed back in. Cleared cache and cookies for all *.dropbox.com Tried at different times of the day (this has not been working for about 12 hours) Note: Choosing "View backed up files" from the desktop app works fine to display the files from a backup. I just cannot list the backups and display the files on the website.1.3KViews0likes8CommentsCan't restore data from an old external device backup
When I look at DropBox with on the web, I can see that I have two external device backups named "Shared Data" and "Ventura ...". When I look at the backups using the app, I can only see one device backup With either of the backups, I can see no way of restoring them to a new machine. I do not have the original external device. With the "Ventura ..." backup I can see the files and download them as there are only a handful of them and then can be zipped. The "Shared Data" backup is 128GB with a considerable number of files and folders. It is therefore not feasible to navigate the complete structure, create the folder structure and then transfer the files in a folder and individual zips. Help is appreciated. Hello The external USB hard drive which I used with Dropbox Backup was physically damaged and will not connect. I would like to download 1TB of files stored in Dropbox Backup to put onto a new drive. Is there a way to point the entire Dropbox backup at a new drive? Reading this, if I log out and log back into Dropbox on my Mac, my only computer, can I point Dropbox Backup to a new External and have it download all of the files slowly? Utilizing the web interface is riddled with errors that there are too many .zip files in the folders. For the past few months I have been using dropbox backup to backup my desktop files and folders. Everything has been working fine until this morning when i updated my OS to Sequoia 15.2 Now my files and folders do not appear on my desktop, although the Desktop folder still seems to be syncing and can be accessed from the shortcuts in the sidebar in Finder. If i drag and drop a file to my desktop it disappears, but can then be found in the desktop folder in finder. Is anyone else experiencing this?504Views2likes5CommentsCan you schedule Dropbox backups from the web to local Mac (maxing processor and energy levels)
Can you schedule Dropbox back ups from web to local Mac (maxing processor and energy levels), can I schedule the back ups over time (say a week?) Hello, I have added a new Macbook Pro (used) and begun to sync it with the folders my other Macs and iPad utilize. However it has taken DAYS (and still not 50% done) and taking up 3 times the hard disk space as the actual backup/sync. I have paused it to give the processor and fan a rest. Is there a way to schedule these transfers so I can batch them over several days or a week? My poor Mac is sounding tired! I had two Dropbox accounts: 1. <> 2. <> The problem was that when I tried to select the files to backup for the <> account, C:\BACKUP\ was not available for selection and this is where my stuff is. So I chatted with Mary Mary told me the <> was a trial told me how to delete it, which I did. Then Mary told me that my <> account was a Plus account with a Trial. Mary told me to cancel the Trial part, which I did. Then Mary told me to click "The link", and she closed the chat. But she didn't give me any link. Then my <> account was gone. Now, I have no account at all. This means that I can't get online tech support. I paid $119 in June for my <> Plus account. I want my <> account back and I want tech support [Personal information removed from the post by Moderator as per the Community's Guidelines]160Views0likes1Comment
