Dropbox Family
97 TopicsCan we have a Dropbox Family plan? We're not interested in a Dropbox team.
I would like to see Dropbox offer a "family" or "home" level for one price. This would be same options as "professional" with say 5TB storage but sharable between house hold family members. Say husband/wife etc. Not interested in 3 users at $15/user/month. That is just out of scope for individual families. Something more basic to securely share information.31Views0likes1CommentI was charged$ 203 for a Family plan but Dropbox said my payment was declined.

Hello, I have shared the Family Folder with a person. I need to share the same Family Folder, with another person. I want that this person only have online access; dont download to his computer. How can I do it? When I will get that, if the both person open the same file inside the Family Folder, what will happen? Thanks in advice for your timeSolved421Views0likes2CommentsFamily plan questions regarding file access
I was on the Basic 2GB plan, and a friend invited me to their family plan, which gave me 2TB of storage. If I use this storage, can anyone in the family group, including the admin(family manager), see my files and folders? Also, if I leave the family plan and go back to my Basic plan, what will happen to the files and folders I previously stored? Will they be deleted?Solved67Views0likes1CommentDo Dropbox Plus and Dropbox Family get the same amount of space?
I currently have a personal plan and am considering switching to a family plan. I read the description and can't get over the fact that the amount of storage space for a family plan is the same as a personal plan. I would think one would get a little more storage space for the price. So, the shared accessibility options are worth $84 a year without any extra storage for up to 6 more people? What math am I missing here, except that I can purchase additional TB of space for ~$60 each?146Views0likes1CommentAllow Dropbox Family plans to add additional storage.
This is an easy money-maker for Dropbox. Right now, for some unknown reason, there's a storage cap for Dropbox Family Plans. Why? Makes no sense. Families grow... and as kids grow up, they have more and more videos to save/share. As such, allow the user to top up and add additional TBs of storage for $x/month. Dropbox created the Family Plan for a reason -- to keep families together and to differentiate it from a Business Plan. I get that. But why put a lid on the Family Plan? Let's families grow. And in the process, make more money this way. As a side note, Microsoft and Google make it super-easy to add additional storage (and charge for it). So Dropbox should make it super-easy for Family Plans to add additional TB of storage.100Views0likes3CommentsAllow us to add more storage to Family plans.
Why can you pay to add storage to all other plans but not the family plan? I've hit the 2tb limit (easy with multiple family members, personal & business files). The other members of the plan already have enough storage on google drive and will switch, so I'm the only one who needs to pay for dropbox. I'll go from paying $204/year > $120/year. I'd happily pay for more storage on the family plan. Am I missing something about why this can't work?62Views0likes1CommentA current Family member wants to become the manager of a new Family account.
Hi, my team is using the Family Plan, but we want to change the Family Manager to another member. The current Family Manager just canceled the Family Plan and the downgrade is scheduled for March 1st. And another member(who was the part of that Family Plan) is trying to subscribe to a new Family Plan. But just now, Dropbox said that he can't subscribe to a new plan because he is still a Family Member. Then does the member who wants to become the new manager needs to wait until March 1st or leave the current plan first and then sign up for a new one? If that member signs up for a new family plan, will he starts with no data at all? We just want to keep all our existing files and change the manager. Should we back up everything before switching to a new family plan and then copy the files? Please help me figure this out😂65Views0likes1Comment
