Dropbox Family
96 TopicsAllow Dropbox Family plans to add additional storage.
This is an easy money-maker for Dropbox. Right now, for some unknown reason, there's a storage cap for Dropbox Family Plans. Why? Makes no sense. Families grow... and as kids grow up, they have more and more videos to save/share. As such, allow the user to top up and add additional TBs of storage for $x/month. Dropbox created the Family Plan for a reason -- to keep families together and to differentiate it from a Business Plan. I get that. But why put a lid on the Family Plan? Let's families grow. And in the process, make more money this way. As a side note, Microsoft and Google make it super-easy to add additional storage (and charge for it). So Dropbox should make it super-easy for Family Plans to add additional TB of storage.51Views0likes3Comments'Your credit card has expired! To keep your subscription, update your credit card' pink banner
A pink banner has appeared stating that: Your credit card has expired! To keep your subscription, update your credit card. However I am part of a family plan and the credit card used to pay for this is my partners, which has not expired. Is this a bug? Can anyone advise on how best to proceed?57Views0likes5CommentsAllow us to add more storage to Family plans.
Why can you pay to add storage to all other plans but not the family plan? I've hit the 2tb limit (easy with multiple family members, personal & business files). The other members of the plan already have enough storage on google drive and will switch, so I'm the only one who needs to pay for dropbox. I'll go from paying $204/year > $120/year. I'd happily pay for more storage on the family plan. Am I missing something about why this can't work?24Views0likes1CommentA current Family member wants to become the manager of a new Family account.
Hi, my team is using the Family Plan, but we want to change the Family Manager to another member. The current Family Manager just canceled the Family Plan and the downgrade is scheduled for March 1st. And another member(who was the part of that Family Plan) is trying to subscribe to a new Family Plan. But just now, Dropbox said that he can't subscribe to a new plan because he is still a Family Member. Then does the member who wants to become the new manager needs to wait until March 1st or leave the current plan first and then sign up for a new one? If that member signs up for a new family plan, will he starts with no data at all? We just want to keep all our existing files and change the manager. Should we back up everything before switching to a new family plan and then copy the files? Please help me figure this out😂30Views0likes1CommentFamily member getting 'dropbox full' emails
I upgraded my 2TB plan to a Family plan and added my spouse who had the basic free account on their own. They joined the Family Plan and their email address shows up in my settings as being a member. They continue to get emails saying: Your 2 GB Dropbox Basic account is out of storage. Do they need to "close" their previous account? Ignore the emails and use the Family plan folders? The emails are annoying them and I'd like to get this fixed. Any ideas welcomed. Thank you.28Views0likes4CommentsHome destroyed in LA fires, need help picking a plan to log purchases
Hi, I have to coordinate among 3 total family members the sharing of storage. Basically, we have iPhones and MacBooks. Our house was just destroyed by fire. I am looking for an efficient way to track our purchases for goods and services for eventual reimbursement by our insurance company. Example: I buy clothing, my wife buys a jacket, my daughter buys a sweater. Receipts of all of these separate purchases could be uploaded to various Dropbox folders so that we could track them by category and eventually put them into an accounting document for submission to the insurance company. What dropbox account would work the most efficiently and easily for this type of family coordination and sharing? Any other organizational ideas for managing the data for sharing with the insurance company would be greatly appreciated.33Views0likes1CommentCannot upgrade to Annual Family Plan via Play Store

Good morning everyone. I have a slight problem, my companies family plan expired and then a new family plan was subscribed to but now all the work on the old family plan is not on the new family plan. Is the best thing to do to just copy and paste all files to the new family plan or is there another way to transfer all files to the new family plan?35Views0likes3CommentsIs it better to have 2 Plus accounts or a Family one?
I have an individual plus account. My wife needs a Dropbox plus account. No other family members. It seems more cost efficient to have two individual plus accounts rather than a family account. The price is close and we would have more space. Am i missing something here? Also, costumer service is not so great. I wish there was a phone support option. Any feedback is appreciated!!!89Views0likes4Comments
