126 TopicsIssues with Camera Upload
I’ve been having issues with my Camera Upload feature in my IOS Dropbox App. Usually when I open the app on my iPhone X, Dropbox will start locating the photos that it hasn’t uploaded yet and start uploading them. Now, it just reads “Starting camera uploads….Looking for photos” but nothing ever happens. I’ve tried closing/re-opening the app, deleting the app/re-installing, updating my IOS, deleting other photo cloud apps (Google Photos), and even upgrading to Dropbox Plus. None of these attempts have help solve my problem. Does anyone have any advice?7.6KViews4likes45CommentsDropbox Not Syncing and reached device limit
I wake up this morning and with coffee in hand, go outside with my Pixel 3XL phone, and snap a couple pics of where I'd like to place my new custom-made address sign on my garage. "Send us some pictures of where you would like the sign to go, we will calculate the exact size needed". and the headache begins..... I noticed within seconds, the pictures did not upload?? hmm?? Check your WiFi right??....connection: Excellent After 2 hours still not syncing, standing directly beside my home router....connection: Excellent yet, nothing? No new pictures since yesterday? I attempt on my android, to manually upload them (4 small pictures) NO success! Checked my dropbox account on my laptop "Dropbox is up to date," and "Sync History" nothing since YESTERDAY!?? hmm? Checked my dropbox account usage.....3.97GB of 5.25GB, so plenty of room for 4 little pictures. what is going on???? the tension headache starts pounding.... Check the android app making sure all permissions are granted and location settings are on.... AH HA! Under location settings, "Apps with this permission can access this device's location" NO DROPBOX??? NO Dropbox on the 'allowed' list, NO Dropbox on the 'allowed only while in use' list, and NO Dropbox on the 'denied' list! WHERE IS DROPBOX????? Have another coffee and think about this some more.... Everything was working fine the day before, what could have possibly changed overnight??? I made sure ALL permissions were granted to Dropbox on the android app. Doubtful that these could have been changed while I was sleeping! Checked them anyway! Yet I was still not able to allow location permissions. I checked the play store for updates and installed. Restart device with new update, STILL NOT SYNCING!!?? Arrhghghhh!!! Splitting Headache!! I then decide to uninstall the Dropbox phone app and then re-install.... I open up the newly installed Dropbox, sign in with my account email, BUT NOW..... "you've reached your plan's device limit" (I am using the basic free version) "Switch to Plus or unlink some devices". My HEAD is going to EXPLODE!!! I HAVE ONLY 2 DEVICES!!! GOOGLE PIXEL PHONE, AND LAPTOP!! THAT'S ALL!! NOTHING MORE!!!! NOW I CAN'T EVEN SET UP THE PHONE APP AGAIN WITHOUT REMOVING THE ONLY (1) DEVICE ON THE LIST (google pixel phone) I have spent the whole day trying to get %#*!! dropbox to work!! Thoroughly and completely disgusted with Dropbox!!!!Solved2.8KViews2likes5CommentsI have multiple Dropbox folders on my computer and want to eliminate one
I have multiple Dropbox folders on my system. Each one resides on a different drive or nested within another folder on those drives. All of them have different icon overlays: One has a green checkmark in a white circle, another has that one too plus the Dropbox logo as an overlay, another has a white checkmark in a solid green circle and the last one just has the Dropbox logo. They all seem to be syncing, but in my DB preferences only one of them is set to be the official folder. How do I eliminate the ones I don't want?Solved2.1KViews2likes2CommentsIs it possible for someone to leave a comment without a Dropbox account?
I am trying to sharing a video file via the method of creating a link, copying the link and sending it to my client who doesn't have a dropbox account. It was my understanding that a person would be able to comment by adding a timestamp even if they don't have a dropbox account. However, dropbox keeps prompting her to create an account before she can leave a comment. Does anyone have a definitive answer on whether or not it's possible to comment on a file in dropbox even if you don't have a dropbox account?404Views1like2CommentsTransfering ownership of a dropbox account

I originally set up the account so it is linked to my email, I pay the bills and manage the admin / sharing permissions etc. I am leaving the group and need to transfer ownership of the account to one of the other members of the team Can someone help with some advice on how we do this please Many thanksSolved2.2KViews1like2CommentsNew Beta has some issues
Having an absolutely terrible time with this new Beta (mac) build and have left multiple messages for support that go unanswered. When exporting files (small jpgs mostly) to folders within the DB folder, some will inevitably just decide not to upload. ever. They'll have an empty cloud icon next to them, and right clicking them brings up no DB items (the uploaded ones do, however). It usually takes renaming them, moving them in and out a bunch of times, etc, to get it to sync. Incredibly annoying. Now it's not uploading half of a folder, there are no cloud icons but when I click the DB upper menu icon, it shows all of them 'waiting to sync' but never actually syncing. When I tried quitting the app and relaunching it, it kept freezing on launch, eventually got it to launch fully but it's still doing this. one other annoying but neutral thing it's doing is telling me my hard drive (with 200gb free) is almost full. it tells me this daily. just needed to rant about that. This is the worst beta version i've ever experienced in an app ever... anyone else having this experience?2.5KViews1like10CommentsSynching never stops, says updating for 5 days!
I have DropBox Plus (paid plan). Have had it for years. I had to re-attach to an existing DropBox folder on my second internal hard drive and, after uninstalling and re-installing DropBox and a little registry cleaning, DropBox is working fine...except it keeps synching constantly. My cooling fan is getting exhausted and my CPU runs at 100% with DropBox synching. The status in the task bar shows "Indexing nnn files (x minutes) and Uploading yyy files" where x, n and y jump all over the place and never go to zero. Rolling up the status pane in the task bar reads "Checking for Updates. Please hold while we make sure everything is up to date". I have uninstalled and rebooted and reinstalled a number of times. I searched the knowledge base and didnt find a solution. I sent email to DropBox several days ago and no answer (but they did send an email asking how their suport was!) It wasn't. Any ideas as how to fix this?Solved4.5KViews1like13CommentsWhatsApp pictures not uploading to Dropbox on Samsung S9 Plus
I have not seen a clear answer yet to this very simple issue : the WhatsAppp folder in my Gallery is not sync-ing with Dropbox. There use to be a menu where one could select the folders in the Gallery for syncronisation with Dropbox but it has been removed or it is hidden now. Can anyone from Dropbox help with a direct answer to this ? ...and yes, I did re-install Dropbox on my phone without success, still not uploading photos or videos from the WhatsApp folders.Solved6.1KViews1like8Commentssharing files - they stop playing after one hour
I regularly share my video ZOOM files with my clients , most of which are 1 to 1 hour and 30 minutes in length. Several of them have complained that the recordings stop after the one hour mark, so they are unable to access the rest of the recording. I am on the personal plus plan. What is the issue? Do I need to upgrade to a different plan or is it an issue on their end? Thank you!13KViews1like11Comments
