hi, I have moved a lot of pictures out of Camera Uploads into other folders. Camera Uploads only shows a few photos (that's fine) but many more show under Photos tab. When in Photos- how can I tell what folder a specific photo is in? And, how does Photos work? is it like a permanent list of every photo that used to be in Camera Uploads? Please help me understand. Thanks!865Views0likes3CommentsUnable to delete a folder I own. "You don’t have permission to delete files in this folder".
Hi! I'm having difficulty deleting a folder I own. I keep getting an error message "You don’t have permission to delete files in this folder". There are no files in the folder and I have triple checked that I am the owner of the folder. I have also unshared it with any other members.737Views0likes19CommentsI can't edit my original text in PDF files, even though I'm on the Plus plan.
I finally bit the bullet to upgrade to the Plus Plan primarily for pdf editing capability. When I tried my first pdf edit, I as so disappointed to find that this plan does not allow for editing of original text! As I read the Features web page regarding pdf editing, I saw "With Dropbox plans, you can make in-line text edits that automatically match the original document's font family, size, and styling" and thought that a paid Plus plan would do the trick. Is there any intention to enhance the Plus Plan pdf editing capabilities? Not sure if I need this plan with current limitations.73Views0likes1CommentDropbox Rewind - can you only go back as far the day when you sign up for Dropbox Plus?
I want to revert to a version of a file from a couple of days ago, so i have signed up to Dropbox Plus to get the Rewind feature, but I don't seem to be able to see any changes before the time I bought Dropbox Plus. Is that to be expected?486Views0likes5CommentsEdit a text (*.txt) file in Chrome browser
Hi there, I'm struggling to edit a TXT file in Chrome browser on Dropbox. I'm sure I've done it with a .docx file before. When I search for this feature, Google returns results asking for it back to 2012, but there's nothing recently, the feature requests such as this one have been closed, so I'm assuming I'm having an issue with my account. Especially since Dropbox is pushing Family plans, signature, and other feature way more complex and less universal as a simple TXT editor. I've been using link removed it has looked the same for years and works fine, but I find it extra weird that a giant company like Dropbox doesn't have a similar feature. How do you usually edit a TXT file in the browser? I only have a few lines to add/remove, when I'm on a machine without the Dropbox app/daemon installed, and don't want to leave any file traces on that machine. See my environment in Chrome on a Macbook air, as a Dropbox Plus paying client. On TXT files, I have an "Open in" Menu, but the arrow only opens a 2px high line. This is definitely not expected behavior, as if the submenu was empty, it should not appear with an arrow in the first place. Windows 11 PC. 1) All my documents are in a folder named DOCUMENTS. 2) The next folder underneath the above folder is Downloads. 3) Immediately underneath the Downloads folder is a folder named DROPBOX--contains all the documents in the DOCUMENTS folder referred to in (1), above. 4) Next folders in order are: Music, Videos, Videos, Desktop, Network, Recycle Bin and ANOTHER DROPBOX folder containing all of the same documents! So, in sum, I have THREE folders named DOCUMENTS, DROPBOX & DROPBOX--all containing all my documents and I have TWO folders called VIDEOS. Please explain in plain simple language how to fix this! WTF are labels? I'll just take a guess!!301Views0likes1CommentCan’t edit Excel .xlsx in iphone (app is updated)

When I wanted to permanently delete a file or folder (which I may have shared with others or not). I used to be able to delete it in Finder and then would get asked by Dropbox: Delete "untitled folder" from everyone's account and all devices? I then confirm with "Delete for everyone" and proceed to empty the trash on my Mac. Now I log on to my Dropbox account, go to "Deleted files" and select the ones I want to permanently delete. Then confirm this and they were gone, space would be freed up. Well, gone are those glory days of simplicity, because: NOW I get told by Dropbox: "File XYZ will be gone forever for everyone, including for anyone still using the folder. Permanently deleting this folder won’t free up space." I confirm by selecting "Permanently delete" NOW I get the message: "x items couldn’t be permanently deleted" Dropbox tells me – uselessly: "What you can do": "Ask the owner to help permanently delete this" I AM the #!*¥ owner, aren't I? Plus, didn't clicking "Delete for everyone" on the desktop version make it clear that ALL those files have to go? Shurely this is a recent bug. It wasn't such a hassle before to get rid of old files. Or am I missing something? GrrrrrSolved17KViews3likes10CommentsHelp! Files Disappeared After Dropbox Migration, how can I recover them?
Hi everyone, I'm writing to the community today because I'm experiencing a strange issue with my Dropbox account. I recently went through the Dropbox migration process, and after the migration was complete, I noticed that a significant number of my files were missing. Specifically, I'm missing 96 out of 102 folders that I had stored in my Dropbox account. The missing folders include important work documents, personal files, and photos. I've checked the "Recently Deleted" folder and the "Deleted Files" folder, but the missing files are not there. I'm very concerned about the loss of these files, and I'm hoping that someone in the community might have some advice. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue after migrating to the new Dropbox? If so, what did you do to resolve the problem? I've already contacted Dropbox support, but they haven't been able to help me yet. I'm hoping that by reaching out to the community, I might be able to find someone who has experienced this issue and knows how to fix it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.681Views0likes3Comments
