30 Topics"Green tick with white background" but I see this icon on almost all of my files.
I've been a user and paid subscriber to Dropbox for about a decade. I use Drobox for sharing my files across multiple devices and occasionally for sharing files with other people who don't always have Dropbox accounts. I don't work as part of an organisation so I don't use any of the team or business related features. I often recommend people use Dropbox over other cloud storage as I've always been impressed with Dropbox. I've just started seeing the normal green background tick replaced with a white background tick on multiple files and folders. According to the help pages these white background ticks can only appear on folders yet I have them on multiple files. The help page says this green tick with a white background and green circle 'Contains files that are both available offline and online-only. A white circle with a green outline and a green checkmark can only appear on a folder. It means the folder contains a mix of files and folders that are ”available offline” and “online-only”.' Looking at the files it looks like some of these are files I've previously shared with other people but that doesn’t match the description here. My recolection is the shared folders had a different icon but that seems to have changed. What would be nice would be for a company to be consistent with their icons rather that occasionally going for a total redesign just because someone has said it's fashionable to have a new look. If you have to have a new look please, at least, keep the basic symbolism consistent with the past for the sake of your long term loyal customers. When you do release an update please also release an update of the help files as the statement that 'A white circle with a green outline and a green checkmark can only appear on a folder' is not true as I have it all over my files.11KViews2likes6CommentsThere are no green check-marks on any files in my Dropbox folder on Windows 10.
This is a Windows 10 machine. I have tried quitting and restarting the dropbox app. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I am viewing the correct folder -- I clicked the folder icon on the dropbox app. My other machine, a laptop with Win 11 on it shows the green checkmarks properly. It would be nice to have these checkmarks so I can see at a glance if a file is synced or not, rather than opening the app and hunting through the sync history.Solved18KViews3likes11CommentsIs the "Time left to sync" view removed again?
I just noticed earlier this week that the time left in sync is missing again from the usual display area of the desktop app. This is on Windows 10, dropbox desktop app version 206.4.6506. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Or, is there a setting that has been added to change the display functionality of the Time left in sync? While it may seem like an afterthought, I use this function almost daily to give clients an idea of when they can expect a file to be uploaded (because lets face it, some clients are almost always in a hurry). If this was removed, can it be added back?629Views0likes6CommentsThe Dropbox sync status icons look different on my Windows computer

Many times I share my screen in meeting and i don't want the participants to know that I'm syncing to Dropbox. So if you can add an option whether to hide or show 'sync status icon' in the desktop files so no one -but me- would know whether i'm syncing or not. Currently everyone in the meeting can know which files i'm syncing exactly just by looking, and i have a lot of meetings so disabling Dropbox during meetings is not an option for me, I highlighted below what i want to hide or make it normal icons, kindly your support.462Views0likes1CommentCan't see the progress bar in sync history on a Mac computer
Hi everyone, Hi everyone, Does anyone know whether the progress bar on dropbox on Macos can be visible? I’m new on Mac, and on windows, in sync history, there was a queue in sync history showing you which file is being uploaded and how much of that has been uploaded. On mac, I can see the queue but there is no progress bar showing which file is being synced. All I see is ‘syncing’ icon at the bottom.Solved1.5KViews0likes7CommentsFeedback regarding Dropbox Backup UX on Windows 10
Dropbox is buggy on WINDOWS 10 Desktop. Same on diferent computers. ALL my external drives are NTFS USB 3 or 3.2. 100% Compatible. WOrks perfect on any other cloud service. All disc is Professional (up to date). new LaCie, new Seagate, etc. And all only randomly appeared in "Manage backups". So please forward to developers: 1.) external devices visibility/detection is TERRIBLE. Like 1 random function. Need MUCH more intuitive. UX is TERRIBLE. 2.) Problem 2.: "only 1 disc of internaldisc is visible". This limitation is TERRIBLE too. I have very important files on internal SATA_lll drives, not just on C:. This limitation is useless. 3.) Why is this window NOT resizable? I cannot see the full folder / file names. it is annoying. this small size, we will scroll in fullscreen, WITHOUT ANY LIMITATIONs again. Please STOP OVER LIMITATIONS.372Views1like1Comment
