I really, really dislike the Dropbox PDF preview functionality. It served my needs much better to have the PDF I click on in Dropbox open directly in Acrobat Reader. Is there a way to switch the PDF preview off? If not, I strongly request that become a future option. PDF preview in dropbox may be great for some users, but for me, it's terrible. Thanks.46KViews32likes56CommentsSlide show feature removed
Viewing a folder of photos as a slide show is a basic feature which was previously available in Dropbox but has been removed. In my view this is a fundamental capability. I would like to send a link to others to let them view files easily without clicking/swiping on every shot and without downloading all the files. I don't get it. Slide shows worked very well before.13KViews15likes9CommentsShared Link / "scl" to "s"
Hello. My question concerns my recent issue with file sharing. Usually, my links were generated in this way: 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/'. However, lately, every file is being generated in this way: 'https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/'. Do you know a way to restore the old way of generating links? I just need old way of links, because game can't read new links Greet 😛Solved103KViews14likes211CommentsHow can I turn off the preview on the site?
Dropbox apparently introduced new functionality that forces a large preview window every time a file is selected. The vast majority of time this degrades my efficiency in using Dropbox. I can't find a way to turn it off. Please help. I'm on the website (not the mobile app) using MacOS and Safari.Solved9.2KViews12likes20CommentsHow to view previews of online-only files on desktop (like how you can in the mobile app)? - macOS
I'm trying to figure out how to see previews, specifically of .jpeg online files, on my mac desktop. I use Dropbox almost exclusively for photo management and it's frustrating not even being able to see a preview so I can figure out which files I need to download locally (I just moved from an old computer that had enough storage to download everything offline to a new computer with much less storage so almost everything is online). I can do this on my android app. All of the online-only files on the mobile app are fully previewable and I can scroll through everything before deciding what to download. Is this possible on the desktop?33KViews10likes165CommentsProvide option to turn off preview mode
The new feature where all files open in preview mode causes extra clicks each time I open a file. Occasionally, the underlying app doesn't open and I have start the app, browse to the file, and open it which is even a longer process. I'd like the ability to turn this feature off.2.7KViews9likes10CommentsDB website folder thumbnails - plain blue please - no photo collages
I HATE the new photo-collage folder thumbnails on the Dropbox website. 👎👎👎👎👎 Not sure why anyone thought that was a good idea or why a content thumbnail is needed for a folder (especially since the photos that show up on the thumbnail aren't necessarily representative of the folder contents). The random photo jumble/collage makes it very hard to differentiate a folder from a file/image. Is there any way to change my folder thumbnails back to plain blue on the website? Thank you, Judith P.S. Folders that only have subfolders are still plain blue on the website....maybe that's my solution. Creating a separate level of folders, however, seems like a silly waste of time and space.6.5KViews9likes18CommentsAdobe not downloading online only files from projects
Hi All, after updating to MacOS 12.3 I have not been able to open project files (Premiere/After Effects) without errors of not finding files that are in dropbox as 'online only'. Prior to the Mac update all files would auto download to be on my machine locally. I know there's an issue with full support for OS 12.3... any updates or solutions folks have found? thanksSolved24KViews8likes102Comments
