Storage space

As described at English | The Dropbox Community except now these notifications are coming up every couple of minutes after I dismiss them. This is insane and unworkable. I have 500MB free; that’s more than plenty. I’m nowhere near running out of space. Something’s got to change.31Views0likes2CommentsRemoving HD storage from Dropbox allotment

I have been searching the community, but I cannot seem to find a way to separate my My Documents storage from Dropbox. Device (Dell PC) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (Windows 11) Question or Issue I have been trying to change the location of my Dropbox folder using the Change location tab in the preferences......sync part of my app, from am almost full C: drive to my virtually empty D: drive. The process begins, and although all of my files are stored offline, the program begins to download them, and ultimately the process stops since my original C: Dropbox folder is out of storage. Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks23Views0likes3CommentsDeleted all my files but my account says it's still full.
Device Microsoft Surface 15 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows Issue details: I have been invited to join my attorney's Dropbox to share files. When I try to join it says I am out of storage and need to upgrade. I have now gone in and deleted everything that I can find. There was a shared folder with about 2 GB of photos that I wasn't aware of. But have now deleted it. I sent a help ticket and they had a link to Device Backup - https://www.dropbox.com/backup/all - there I also deleted a device backup with 2 GB How long will it take to be able to join and access my attorney's shared folder. Is there anything else I need to do?48Views0likes2CommentsThe total storage used doesn't match the size of files I see under the All files page.
I'm trying to get my storage down below the 2 GB limit, to go back to the free plan. I've made sure to delete all public files and other folders I wasn't using. I now have only one folder of photos listed under All Files, and the total size listed is 885.1 MB. When I go under the Subscription page, though, it says I'm using 2.2 GB. I initially deleted a huge file of photos, and the total storage number went way down, but now as I try to get it down more, it's like the 2.2 GB won't budge. I've spent hours and hours trying to reduce what I don't need, and I just need to get over the finish line!! It's just so frustrating. Why don't those two numbers match? I just spent over an hour troubleshooting with the Chatbot, with no clear answer...Please help! (Also, why can't I email someone, when it says that's included with my plan??
Cordialement. I'm using Dropbox on a MBP (26.2) and have started having hard drive space issues. In trying to troubleshoot I come across the CloudStorage folder in the Library folder which appears to be occupying almost the same amount of space as my Dropbox folder which is currently in my User Folder. How does the CloudStorage folder function? It appears to be a mirror of the Dropbox folder, but I'm confused as to why it's occupying so much hard drive space. It almost appears as though the Dropbox files on my computer as opposed to being in the cloud are being stored twice. Thanks for your help.61Views0likes3CommentsTrying to delete files, not working. I refuse to just buy more storage space.
I am trying to make space in my dropbox on my HP computer, since I am getting a warning about starting to delete files unless I buy more storage space. I absolutely do not want to buy more space! It is a good time to delete some unnecessary files. So now I am permanently deleting all my deleted files, one by one. At some point it does not allow me to delete any more of them. I get no message to explain why, it just does not function. I am pretty sure it just tries to force me to buy more space. Any thoughts on this? Or, do you guys know of any other cloud services that actually allow you to manage your own data?112Views0likes8CommentsQuestions about shared folders, storage space and permissions
Hi all, After cleaning up all the mess in my Dropbox account I would like you to comment on two questions I have: As an example. .I have a folder A, and a lot of subfolders within that folder, called 1, 2, 3 etc. In the subfolder A1 there are a few subfolders, called, A1a, A1b etc. I want to share the subfolders A1a, A1b etc. The person I want to share folders with has a free Dropbox account (2 GB). I give them permission for A1a. So the person opens Dropbox goes into my account until the level of A1, finds the subfolder A1a, opens that and does what this person wants to do. As long as the folder A1a is smaller than 2GB that's okay for this person to do. After editing files within A1a, the folder may be closed and removed from the free Dropbox account. In this way this person has always 2GB available. One or more shared folders may not exceed 2GB. Is this a way to use Dropbox and shared folders? A shared folder can be opened by another person as long as necessary until I remove the permission, right? Thanks in advance and with kindest regards, Leo.Solved42Views0likes2Comments
