Preventing folders from being moved
Hello fellow Dropbox users.. I am the team admin on a business account. We have implemented a folder structure across our team. Includes folders and sub-folders. We would now like to "lock" our new folder struture, while still allowing team members to accessall folders and sub-folders. We need team members to be able to upload, download, edit and save files within the folders and sub-folders. Is this possible? Our main goal is to prevent team members from accidiently moving or dragging folders or sub-folders into the wrong place. Hi Dropbox and forum, There seems to be no way of removing all access of an external user to files/folders shared to him. Lets say you have a team folder with "Projects", and in this folder you have hundreds of subfolders shared with different external collaborators. One user has been invited to 70 of the subfolders, and you need to remove his access to everything. As far as i see, there is no other way to remove this user but to go through every one of the 70 folders and manually remove him. Way to stop dropbox disallow people from requesting to join our team?
Is there a way to not give people the option to join our team? Every time I send a file to someone outside of my dropbox team (which is almost daily) they must get some kind of additional email telling them they can request to join our team, because I usually get a follow up email with random people who got the file asking to be part of my company's team. Hide folders from users who don't have permission
Is it possible to hide a folder entirely from users who don't have a permission to open the folder? At the moment, users who are not member of certain groups or are not invited to open a folder are not able to open the folder and see its contents. But there are some folders, most users (except our management) shouldn't even know about their existance so I would like to hide the folders in the directory view.Solved13KViews8likes12Comments
Inability to Activate Smart Sync (remote management software & third party pointing device drivers).
Any luck? I have a machine that I just updated to 10.13.4 and clicking "Allow" still does nothing for enabling the smart sync extension. EDIT: I was trying to do this via VNC to a mac that did not have a display, keyboard, or mouse attached. Once I attached those items, I was able to click the "Allow" button. Apparently you cannot click that button from a VNC session. Lesson learned.Solved12KViews5likes41Comments

I tried to add a team member for dropbox business, but I get the message that she cannot join bc she is part of another team. She works on both projects, and I need her to have access to these files. PLEASE allow Admins of Business accounts to disable the auto-generated personal folder that is in each user's Business Dropbox. For my business, as well as many other businesses, having a personal folder in each user's Business Dropbox poses many problems. At the VERY LEAST, allow us to change the name of the personal folder so it's not directly tied to the user's name. If I could at least rename the folder to "DO NOT USE", without having to make that the user's name, that would be useful. First, it confuses employees, who mistakenly move or save files into this personal folder instead of the shared team folders. Second, it can cause naming problems, as I name my users by generic names instead of their personal names, because employees change often. For example, my user account names for my 3 users are the same as my shared team folder names. So now, when user "Financial" access their Dropbox, there is a shared team folder called "Financial", as well as their personal folder called "Financial" that cannot be renamed. Employees will absolutely be confused by this and put things in the wrong folders.... all because Dropbox has forced these ridiculous personal folders onto us. Third, most businesses require complete control over their cloud file sharing system, and the files within.
