32 TopicsFile failing to sync
Is there a way of marking individual files in the Dropbox folders so that they are not indexed/ uploaded? I use a large 32 bit application that is constantly updating an indexing file in the folder where the data files are stored, Dropbox uses a lot of processing power trying to sync (and Failing) the (48MB) file, but cannot do so because the file is open and locked by the Application whilst it is open (which is about 16 hours a day.) Dropbox is using the CPU Turbo boost trying to sync the open file, which I would prefer is used for other Applications, short of pausing all Syncing is there a way of marking the file for not being synced to the cloud? or is there a way of scheduling DropBox to sync?3Views0likes1Comment217.4.4417 breaks screenshot functionality
A new update of Dropbox was pushed to me today. It added a new set of options related to screenshots. Show quick action after screenshot... I dislike this, I preferred just getting the notification, but at least I can turn this off. When Screenshot is ready... "Copy link to clipboard" or "Copy Picture to clipboard" I typically take a screenshot by pressing print screen, then pasting the screenshot in Discord or my art software, I REQUIRE this functionality to maintain my productivity. but I also like to have the image saved to dropbox as a backup. With "Copy Link to Clipboard", well, it's a link, Art software isn't going to know what to do with that, and discord doesn't inline images from Dropbox very well, so I'd still rather have an image in the clipboard. The 2nd option, "Copy Picture to Clipboard", well, when I try and paste, nothing happens. I want a 3rd option... "Leave Clipboard alone", just, whatever print screen normally does, just let it happen. Just Save the image to my Screenshots folder in Dropbox, and leave it at that, like it used to be. Is that too much to ask? Note: I do pay for Dropbox.13Views0likes0CommentsWhich Dropbox icon do I need to click on to access my account settings on Windows?
I wish to change some settings. When I click on either the dropbox icon (either right click or left click, I expect to see some dialog box where I can changes settings. Instead I see Windows explorer showing the cache directory of the applications. How can I get to the dropbox settings dialog box if I cannot access it this way.Solved95Views0likes21CommentsHow do I find the Dropbox Preferences on Windows?
I'm trying to change the syncing settings, but I can't seem to find the Preferences or open the Desktop App. I've downloaded Dropox (and I tried to do it again but the website said it was already installed) but any time I open the app it only opens the File Explorer. I've gathered there are a lot of settings I can manage in the Preferences sections but how on earth do I access it? I'm using a PC with Windows 11.Solved57Views0likes5CommentsHow can I re-enable the 'Delete file everywhere' prompt on Windows?
I am a paid user of Dropbox (I bought the 2TB plan some time back). Earlier when I would delete any file or folder on Dropbox using the Dropbox App on my Windows Laptop, it used to ask me if I wanted to delete the file/folder everywhere. Now it stopped doing that. Now the file or folder that I am deleting would just end up in my Windows Recycle Bin. I want to re-activate the "Do you want to delete everywhere". How do I do that???34Views0likes1CommentDisable screenshot tool, windows
In windows, now, a preview of a screenshot pops up in the right hand corner. I do not want this. In invites me to paste, edit, or delete the screenshot. The only thing I want is for the screenshot to save to my drive. I want the ability to paste the screenshot minutes later, like normal. Now, with this dropbox tool, if I take a screenshot, then open a program, the screenshot isn't there anymore. Previously I could open the program and paste.56Views0likes11CommentsTeam activity no longer shows up on desktop app on Windows 10 and 11
I used to see all the team activity in my desktop app but now it wont show up. I have tried Windows 10 and 11 computer and it appears to be same. The team activity does show up in my mobile app, so it should not be the account issue but more related to the desktop app settings. PS: sometimes I can see the team activity for a few seconds, then they will disappear.73Views0likes5CommentsI can only sign in to the Dropbox app if I'm connected to OneDrive on Windows 11
I am on a surfaces Pro7 with Windows 11. I am able to sign into my Dropbox account as long as I am connected to one-drive. Once I disconnect one-drive, Dropbox does not let me sign in with the exact same user name/password. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. ThanksSolved235Views0likes4CommentsClicking on the Dropbox icon in my system tray is not opening the app to get to the preferences
I click on the Dropbox icon in the taskbar but the app won't open. I have even uninstalled the antivirus and restarted the computer, and it is still the same, nothing, not even a message explaining the issue. I need to access my account backup preferences because I only have about 900mb of information saved and the backup takes up about 15gb, it's ridiculous. It's there another way to erase the backup or only through the desk app?161Views0likes1Comment
