How can I open Dropbox settings when the taskbar icon isn't showing?

The Dropbox taskbar button has disappeared recently (Win11 Pro), DB is running (syncing ok, processes running in task manager) and all icons are set to show in the taskbar so it's not a taskbar config issue.

The only solution I've found suggested to this (other than the basic 'check your taskbar settings one) is uninstalling and reinstalling Dropbox but I'm very nervous about doing this as I have a VERY large archive with selective sync and I want to check the config to confirm exactly what is online only before trying the 'move archive out and back into folder after reinstalling' to avoid downloading everything. It would take days (if not weeks) to resync everything on my current connection.

Hi robotronald - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Did you reboot your computer since you first noticed this? If you did and this persists, can you send us a screenshot showing your computer's taskbar?

Are you able to search for the Dropbox app from Windows home directly to see if you can find and open the app from there?

Any additional information is more than welcome!

Yes I did and opening the app just opens the Dropbox folder, not the Dropbox UI (I think this has always been the case with your app?). Here's a screenshot of the taskbar. I've always had Windows set to show all taskbar icons and I've double checked this is still the case (Dropbox is show in the taskbar icons list as enabled too).

I see, thanks for the additional information and the screenshot too robotronald - much appreciated.

Can you try a simple reinstall using the offline installer from this page directly and let me know how it goes?

Thanks. Can you confirm if this will retain all my current settings (with the partial folder sync settings still saved so I don't need to worry about moving folders/resyncing when I'm not sure which folders have been excluded)?

Yes, this way you won't need to worry about your selective sync settings robotronald - just install the app from the link directly. Let me know of any updates!

PS: You can also try temporarily quitting any 3rd party apps you have running on your computer to see if they're interfering somehow

It's mysteriously started working again (icon appeared without any further action). Maybe something was interfering with it temporarily. Thanks for the prompt responses, if it reoccurs I'll try the reinstall and report back to confirm how it went.
