Dropbox Plan Previous Business Admin) Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? Laptop and Phone are connected Question or Issue I closed my professional DropBox account around a month ago. After the fact, I realized my personal folder was not accessible because it was embedded within my previous professional folder. I tried to access it and was charge for a renewal. I cancelled that. I tried to transfer files and was denied access to that function. What is the cheapest way to reopen my Professional DropBox Account, i.e. for a limited time, like one month? I can't seem to get a phone number or email address to discuss plan options with DropBox sales. Any suggestions?43Views0likes1CommentClarifications regarding personal use plans vs business use plans
Hi, I am trying to figure out a general outline of all the plans, and here are my finds. Personal Use plans : (payed as an individual) 1. Basic 2 Gb 1 user free 2. Plus 2 TB 1 user 3. Family 2 TB 6 users 4. Professional 3 TB 1 user 5. Essentials 3 TB 1 user Commercial Use plans: (payed as a company) 1. Essentials 3 TB 1 user 2. Business 9 TB 3 users+ 3. Business Plus 15 TB 3 users+ 4. Enterprise Custom Custom But I also found another group of Business plans: 1. Professional 3 TB 1 user 2. Standard 5 TB 3 users+ 3. Advanced 15 TB 3 users+ Questions: 1. I see Essentials as being both in the list of personal plans as well as in the group of company payed plans. Is it correct? 2. Is Professional plan a company payed plan or a personal payed plan? 3. Standard is the same thing as Business ? Advanced is the same as Business Plus? Or are they different? 4. The 3rd group of plans (Professional, Standard, Advanced) are all company payed plans? 5. Are there plans that can be both personal payed as well as company payed plans? 6. I also want to know if all business plans are company payed plans or there are exceptions (personal plans that can be company payed for, or business plans that can be personally payed for). 7. Do Work account mean is a business account? (see question 6 for exceptions) Thank You, Dan4.1KViews0likes6CommentsWill my paid Dropbox Standard for Teams plan work the same as my free trial?
Question or Issue Hello, i had a trial priod of 30days for the standard plan for Teams. We have added my team, created folder etc.. everything is running fine. and we are happy hence i have updated my billing information too based on the number of licenses we have. What i want to ensure, is will it all remain the same (folders etc) when the trial period ends tomorrow? or do i need to add all the licenses again? i want to ensure there are no hiccups when the trial ends. Thanks. Kindest regards. AnuradhhaSolved54Views0likes3CommentsWarning - Long-Term Dropbox Unlimited Customers: Retained Legacy Storage Can Be Removed
Iâm posting this as a warning to other long-term Dropbox business users, particularly anyone who originally had Unlimited storage and was later migrated to a paid tier with retained legacy storage. This is not a rant. Itâs a factual account of what happened to me, so others can assess their own risk. Background I was a long-standing Dropbox Business customer on an Unlimited plan. When Dropbox discontinued Unlimited, I was explicitly told that: My existing storage usage would be retained My account would continue functioning as before My monthly cost would increase to reflect the new structure My price went from roughly ÂŁ70/month to ÂŁ154+/month, which I accepted in order to keep my storage and business workflows intact. Over time, I built my business around this arrangement and stored ~56TB of client data, some of which I am legally required to retain. What went wrong Recently, my bank temporarily declined a payment after flagging Dropbox as a potential fraud risk. This caused a brief, unintentional billing interruption. Important points: I did not cancel my plan I did not request a downgrade I updated my payment method as soon as I became aware However, during that short interruption: My account was downgraded When I re-upgraded, I was placed onto the current Dropbox Advanced plan My previously retained legacy storage was permanently removed My account now shows a 30TB limit, despite already having ~56TB stored. Dropboxâs position (in their own words) Support confirmed the following: I was notified that my account would be downgraded I was not notified that retained legacy storage would be permanently lost Once downgraded, legacy storage âno longer existsâ and cannot be restored There is âno room for escalationâ because the features are no longer offered The only option is to pay substantially more for additional licences or storage add-ons In short: A temporary billing issue permanently removed storage that I had already been paying a higher monthly fee to retain. Why this matters to other users If you: Ever had Unlimited Dropbox Were told you could retain your existing storage Are now paying more under a newer plan Store large volumes of business or client data Then your storage is not safe in the way you may assume. Based on my experience: A billing interruption (even involuntary) Can trigger a downgrade Which can permanently remove retained storage With no restoration, review, or escalation available Even if you immediately fix the payment issue. Key takeaway This isnât about asking for free storage or legacy features. Itâs about undisclosed consequences: Being warned about a downgrade is not the same as being warned that previously retained storage will be permanently forfeited Especially when customers have already accepted significant price increases to keep that storage If you rely on Dropbox for large-scale storage, I strongly recommend: Keeping multiple backup copies Reviewing your exact contractual position Understanding that âretainedâ storage may not survive plan interruptions Why Iâm posting this Iâm sharing this so other users: Arenât blindsided the way I was Can make informed decisions Can assess whether Dropbox is still safe as long-term business infrastructure If youâre in a similar position, Iâd genuinely like to hear your experience.135Views1like5CommentsHow can I switch from a Family plan to a Standard account for teams?

I own my business and use Dropbox Business. It's great and more secure than personal, which I have loads of data on. Is there any reason I should have both? I can't think of any. Seems like I should just migrate everything to DB Biz. Am I missing something?Solved3KViews0likes6CommentsHow can our new client merge their multiple individual accounts into a company one?
We are an MSP and we've just acquired a client that uses Dropbox a lot. I assumed (and they led to believe) they were using an Enterprise account but they are not Each person (12 ish) has their own separate Dropbox accounts; one of which has been used to share "company" data with the others. There is approx 550Gb of this data What is the best practice to amalgamate these into one "proper" company account with the appropriate users? If there's any Dropbox staff out there we would be happy to engage with you on a consultancy basis to sort this properly Simon63Views0likes3CommentsAdmin roles without tying up license
We are a smaller company that utilizes Dropbox. We have a handful of licenses and need to tie up 2-3 for our IT team to administer the software. Seems silly since these folks aren't sharing any files. Would like to see an option to have the admin roles without requiring licenses.58Views1like1CommentBusiness shared folder access via personal account (App & Web)
Dropbox Plan Plus Question: I have access and use of a 30GB or so shared folder from a (3rd party's) buisness account. Its been linked and is visible from my account. If I drop down to the basic personal plan, can I still access and transfer those 30GB of files that the 3rd party has linked to me via their Business account? I don't need desktop sync, just web and app access.Solved172Views0likes5Comments
