Open shared links directly in native app
A few years have passed since this request and as a business this would save us allot of time and irritation. As a company we share daily hundreds of links to files via Microsoft Teams with each other. Now the situation is as follow: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on the link 3 browser opens the link to the file 4 user clicks on 'open in dropbox' button Ideal situation would be that admins and users have a File open preference, where links to files can directly open in the native apps: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on it and the file is synced and opened in the native app Microsoft Teams has a great solution to this problem for Office-applications, called File open preference, see screenshot. It would be great if Dropbox could also build this feature in it's Dropbox-apps.
How to Safely Manage Photos Between Dropbox and iPhone?
Hi everyone, I use Dropbox to back up and organize my photos, but I’m having some trouble managing them with my iPhone Photos app. I recently noticed that when I delete a photo from Dropbox, it also gets deleted from my iPhone Photos app, which I didn’t expect. Here are my questions: How can I delete photos from Dropbox without affecting the photos saved on my iPhone? Is there a way to stop Dropbox from syncing deletions with my iPhone? Can I keep using Dropbox as a backup while ensuring my iPhone photos remain safe and unaffected? I’m a professional photographer specializing in headshots Cary, and branding, so keeping my photos secure and well-organized is really important for my work. Apps in my iPhone say my Dropbox is empty when I try to attach files
Hello! Whenever I try to attach a file saved in Dropbox from an app (for instance, WhatsApp message, or Mail app) in my iPhone (iOS 18.1), the app says my Dropbox is empty, although it is fully synced in my phone. Interestingly, from the Messages app I'm able to attach a file and if I open the Dropbox app and select to export a file to WhatsApp or Mail, it works. I've tried disabling and enabling Dropbox from the Browse option, clearing history and website data and restarting the phone, and nothing worked. Any suggestions? Thank you!
On iPad, adjust column widths, or allow line wrap, to show full filenames
Is it possible to prevent long filenames being shortened from the end? My filenames need to have the whole name displayed, rather than having the end characters chopped off. These "end" characters identify the various versions of the same file. Many thanks, JohnF

Hallo, vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen…. wenn ich Bilder über Dropbox herunterlade, ändern sich ohne mein Zutun die Metadaten. Das heißt konkret: liegt das Foto in der Dropbox, hat es Erstelldatum 24.05.2024 - wenn ich es herunterlade, ändert sich das auf das aktuelle Datum vom Download, als in diesem Fall heute 14.01.2025. Damit ist ein zeitliches Zuordnen nicht möglich und Bilder werden im zusammen gelegten Ordner von Reisebildern verschiedener Personen nicht passend abgelegt. Ich hoffe, dass ich mein „Problem“ einigermaßen verständlich erklären konnte. Vielen Dank schon mal vorab 🙂
Can we upload live photos through Camera Uploads?
I can see lots of posts asking for support for Live Photos. I feel quite cheated that I have lost the ability to see these photos. As someone else has also posted, I have little snippets of my mother’s voice and movement that I have lost forever and she has passed away. Dropbox offer a photo sync service which means they need to solve for Live Photos, they have been around since 2015 so it’s not a new function. Please prioritise a solution to upload and then restore Live Photos.Add support to deploy Dropbox via MDM
Small and large companies use MDM's, like Microsoft Intune, to manage their devices. As Dropbox has a focus on companies, it's one of the only apps that 1: doesn't offer an app to install via MDM for Mac and Windows, 2: doesn't support script for auto account login via MDM. Dropbox does support EMM, but that doesn't to the trick for most companies.
