121 TopicsVery slow opening files and folder
Hi everyone, I'm using Dropbox (firmware n. 166.3.2831) on my gaming laptop running Windows 11. Everything run smoothly until some days ago, when Dropbox suddenly became very slow when clicking to open folder or file: it takes MANY seconds (10-15 seconds at least). This causes a huge slowdown in the user experience, I can't even work in these circumstances. Of course this is a problem related to the Dropbox folder only, local folders run as smooth as they should. How can I fix that? Thanks. EDIT: apparently there's a conflict between Dropbox and iCloud for Windows; deleting the latter, Dropbox app works.Solved11KViews5likes19CommentsDropbox options missing in right-click menu on Windows
Hi guys, today, probably after downloading and installing latest stable release a Dropbox, the context menu disappeared from Windows Explorer. Dropbox version: 183.4.7058 Windows 10 version: 22H2 OS build 19045.3448 Unfortunately I am not sure, what version was installed prior to update. Any ideas to solve this? Was reading older posts of same issue and not sure how to proceed? Downgrade to older stable and disable updates for a while? Thanks PetrSolved45KViews4likes86CommentsThe Dropbox desktop app is slow when navigating my Dropbox folder or viewing files on Windows 11
Device Custom desktop - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - 64GB RAM - Samsung SSD 980 PRO 1TB Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Dropbox App Version/Browser Version 229.4.5197 Question or Issue As I try to navigate my Dropbox folder in Windows or view any file (regardless of size) there is about a 10-15 second delay before it does anything. I can almost log into the web version of Dropbox and access the file faster than I can clicking on a single folder directly in Windows. This has been happening for a year or so now. I reinstalled Dropbox a month or two ago, switched to the Windows Store version and just reinstalled the normal desktop app version today. It is still occurring. I don't have iCloud installed or use OneDrive, I've tried reinstalling Dropbox about 3 times now. Is there a way to tell what is causing it to run so slow? Or what is causing it to run slow?1.5KViews3likes46CommentsDropbox Paper images aren't loaded on the web

It concernc various dropbox paper files. Even if I click on the link, they do not open anymore. I am sure all of these pictures were uploaded correctly! They are usually screenshots that I have copy + paced into the document. This is very frustrating and a very big issue. I would have thought dropbox paper is more reliable! I used to be able to: open my dropbox folder, click on a folder with pictures, double click a picture to have it appear full-size on my screen, then scroll through the rest of the pictures in that folder by hitting the cursor keys. Now, since the update, sometimes I can't scroll at all, or when I can, it will show pictures that have been moved to other folders, but not the current pictures that are in the current folder. This is a serious problem for me because I am constantly scrolling through new photos that we use for marketing. Windows File Explorer crashes every time I acess the Dropbox folder. It does not crash in any other folder. Here's a few more details... - I can access my Dropbox files from within my programs, like CorelDRAW and Adobe, but only for about 60 seconds, then the open or import dialog freezes. - This started about 5-6 weeks ago. - I uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox once, and booted my computer dozens of times. - My folder location is C:\Users\George\Dropbox - I can open that folder, but if I click on anything - a folder or file - Explorer freezes - This one is weird - anywhere within File Explorer the search quits as soon as I put the curser in the search box. Not just in the Dropbox folder, but in avery folder.Solved6.6KViews2likes11CommentsThe Dropbox desktop app is stuck at syncing a specific number of files on Windows

I have my Dropbox app installed on my Windows 11 computer and can see my files in my dropbox folder in File Explorer. However, I cannot preview a PDF file in File Explorer on the Preview Pane UNLESS I open the file first and a green check mark appears next to the file. If the file is set to Online, or I don't open the file first, I cannot preview it. Just as an FYI, I can preview all files that are on my PC, or PDF files in my Dropbox folder that have a green checkmark, but preview does not come up on Dropbox files that don't have the green checkmark. Is there a way to preview these files without opening them or saving them on my PC first?Solved259Views1like2CommentsJPG Files don't display in File Explorer Preview Pane
I found I had the same issue as this person... JPG Files don't display in File Explorer Preview Pane | The Dropbox Community Any JPGs in my dropbox would not show up in my Windows 10 File Explorer preview pane. All other folders on my PC worked fine. Copied the JPGs from my Dropbox folder to any non-dropbox location and they worked fine. SOOOO As per the suggestion in the above mentioned post, I deleted dropbox, reinstalled it, and re-sync'd all the same files. They work fine now. A pain, and no reason why this happens, but I wanted to share incase others run into this.Solved382Views1like3Comments
