Windows File Explorer crashes only in the Dropbox folder

Windows File Explorer crashes every time I acess the Dropbox folder. It does not crash in any other folder. Here's a few more details...

 - I can access my Dropbox files from within my programs, like CorelDRAW and Adobe, but only for about 60 seconds, then the open or import dialog freezes.

 - This started about 5-6 weeks ago.

 - I uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox once, and booted my computer dozens of times.

 - My folder location is C:\Users\George\Dropbox

 - I can open that folder, but if I click on anything - a folder or file - Explorer freezes

 - This one is weird - anywhere within File Explorer the search quits as soon as I put the curser in the search box. Not just in the Dropbox folder, but in avery folder.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your help. I had no idea I was using a beta version. But, last night I was just poking around and I clicked on Troubleshoot Compatibility on the program file. The troubleshooter changed the compatibility to Windows 8, and now everything works great. Except searching withing Explorer but that's in every folder.
