.mp4 files have no audio after I download them

I downloaded files that were uploaded by a training institute. It takes 2-3 hours to download the file each time and once it is downloaded (to my laptop) it has no sound. It is an mp4 format and I have tried multiple media players, checked to ensure my volume and theirs is showing as on/not muted. I have three different trainings to do from this and I've taken far too many hours simply trying to gain access 😞 Can someone help me figure out how to get this to work

Dropbox doesn't have any control over this. If a video has audio when uploaded, then the audio is still in the file when it's downloaded and your device or application is just not able to play it.

What media players have you tried? I find that VLC has the best support for multiple audio/video types.

I've tried Media Player, Windows Media Player, ClipChamp - all the ones available on my laptop. Idk what VLC is do I have to try to download something more?

Those players are pretty limited in the codecs that they support. You say it's an MP4 file, but an MP4 is just a container file that can contain audio or video stored in many different formats.

VLC is a separate media player that you would download and install on your computer. I rarely ever run into an audio or video file that it can't play.

Not sure if you saw the additional reply. I downloaded VLC and it still does not have volume. I emailed the company I purchased the trainings from to see if they can assist. I spent a lot on these trainings
