A lot of photos with 4kb in size, not able to be opened after promotion storage expired!
Hi all!
I've encountered a problem accesing photos on my account after the storage has been reduced to 9 GB (Having almost 18GB of data already uploaded). Some of the photos and videos are absolutely fine, but starting with a point in time, most of the files looks to be present with the right filename and extension, but ONLY 4kb in size and after downloading looks like a corrupt file.
Having in mind that the files are visible somehow, i assume that are not deleted, but are useless.

Have you looked the see if there is a previous version of the file?
At 4kb it looks like they never actually uploaded fully to Dropbox and only either a thumbnail or some meta data has - are you using a Mac at all?

For some of them i clearly remember that were fully uploaded. I do use Mac, i also tried on iPhone and looks the same.
Thx for the answer!

Hello from me, marius_magherca, and Happy New Year!
While uploading those files to your Dropbox account, did you use the website or the desktop app on your Mac device?
If you used the Dropbox app, can you please open your local Dropbox folder and let me know if the files appear corrupted there, as well?

Happy new year!
Actually i've used the iOS Mobile App on an iPhone that was upgraded, so i am unable to check now, but at that time all (or at least considerably more than now) were fine.

Dropbox cannot alter them once they've been uploaded, so, if they uploaded fine (and you physically went to the Dropbox website and checked them) then something else has altered them. However, unless you noticed within 30 days I'm afraid they are not recoverable on a free account.
