blurry pdf viewed from browser

I've had a pdf file stored on dropbox for years; it was perfectly clear, but now when viewed in the browser it is blurry, so much so that the text is not readable. It is clear when downloaded; the problem only occurs when viewed on dropbox in the browser. I found a similar thread from about 3 years ago (https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-files-folders/Some-of-my-pdf-files-appear-blurry-when-I-m-viewing-those-on-my/m-p/355427) and it seems that no resolution has been found. Any chance of a way to fix this?

Thank you. Unfortunately, I am using the free version and only have access to the "chatbot" which wasn't much help. Looking forward to a solution for this soon.  The only way we are able to view the .pdf documents in our browser is to download them to our devices and view.  This appears to only work for those with iPhones.  Android users are not able to download the .pdf files.  This is all incredibly frustrating.

    Mixed Results:

    1. On desktop, using Chrome browser, all pdf's are now "readable", including the ones that were blurry, however, they still aren't perfectly "clear" in comparison to opening them in Adobe Reader. A bit fuzzy around the edges, but at least they can't be viewed and read for the time-being.

    2. I also tried viewing files in Android Chrome mobile browser (not Dropbox app), and now ALL pdf's are completely blurry and unreadable vs previously only 8 files (multipage showing as 1 page). If I select mobile browser setting to display as "Desktop site," then they will re-render as readable, similar to on the desktop as described in point #1. Reverse is true when option de-selected, they become blurry again. This is not an obvious work-around for most people and still needs to be fixed.

    Hi guys, happy Friday!

I saw that some of you mentioned that this isn't resolved on your end. I will pass on your comments to the relevant departments so that we can further improve on this.

Keep in mind that we are continuing to monitor any reports of PDF blurriness and actively working to resolve these issues.

    Thanks!

I am also experiencing blurry files for about 2 weeks now- even with a paid subscription. We are a small manufacturing business in NW Iowa and are having customers non-stop complain about not being able to view our files online and through mobile without the blur. We've tried different browsers and everything else others have tried, results are the same, BLURRY. FIX THIS ISSUE.

My issue was solved. I suggest that you register a complaint via chat. Feel free to reference my "ticket #" which is 21162060. Gareth in Drobox support figured out my issue and fixed it. I assume your problem is the same as mine was. Good luck.

When is the issue with sharing and blurry images going to be fixed?  Having to work around a known issue is getting old, especially when it was working before.

I am having the same issue. I just recently upgraded my account. Rethinking of moving to a different platform. Can not have blurry documents when sharing files. Downloading is time consuming to see a clear pdf copy. That is why we are sharing documents on Dropbox. Please assist.

Hi there, so it seems i'm on page 6 of this and this seems not resolved. I have sat with chat support with no solution. Trying on a different browser does not work. It seems that its is a bug on Dropbox end and I have had to escalate this and make a complaint. Would suggest everyone do the same.

Never used to be like this and it seems to me temperamental depending on what days you view the PDF link within browser for me.  I have now had to move my 70mb pdf to Google Drive. Fun times,.

I've been chatting with support both via email and Twitter. Rather than acknowledge the issue, they keep telling me that it is the desired behavior and that I need to download the file to see the full resolution. I'm a designer, so I'm obviously very sensitive to visual quality, and I know this wasn't an issue a few months ago. I'm paying $22 for the pro account, specifically so I can share documents with my clients. I've tested so many different files, even an 80kb PDF with just text, and it's still blurry. I can't have my clients look at something blurry and think that its suppose to look like that.

This is simply unacceptable, and I keep trying to get support to acknowledge the issue and do the right thing and fix it rather than pretend this is how it's supposed to work, but they keep gaslighting me instead. I'm starting to look for alternatives to move my files to. Can't just justify paying that much and be stuck with low-quality resolution.

I suggest you reference Ticket #  21162060. This was my ticket number when I submitted the complaint about the same issue. They acknowledged it was a problem and once it was escalated, it was resolved within two days.
