The thing is that phone got stolen so I have no way to get into that phone. I only have one email so I know what the login would have been. Is there any other way around this?

Sign in to your account on the Dropbox website and look at your Events page. Does it show any activity from your old device, or is it mostly empty? If it's mostly empty except for anything recent, then you most definitely created a new account instead of signing in to your existing one.
