Dropbox shared links are too long
Ever since Dropbox has moved to the sci/fi format for generating links, I've been running into a constant issue of the url links becoming so ridiculously long that websites with linkfilters will destroy the address, rendering them unusable.
I used to be able to scrape by with finding ways to generate the old, far shorter links, but it's not possible anymore and it's looking more and more likely that I may need to change away from Dropbox due to this issue.

I doubt this has anything to do with the change to the scl/fi links or their length. In your example on the Steam site, they seem to be encoding the URL, replacing & with & which is the HTML entity for an ampersand. This is a pretty common thing to happen so those characters aren't read as literal code, instead of just part of a URL. It would be on the site where the links are being used to update their system to handle URLs properly.
This seems more like something you should bring to Steam, asking them to not alter links that you enter into their platform.

Yea sure, I can use Steam as probably the exhibit A of this very issue.
I've been using Dropbox for project linking for a long while but the newer URLs have become a complete roadblock because of this garbling that happens.

Hey AceJackson - thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Just to make sure we're on the same page, can you elaborate on the problem you're facing and/or send us a couple of screenshots or samples to have a visual as well?
Thank you!
