Help with downloading my stuff from the website
Hi,
I had a Dropbox subscription that didn’t suit my needs, and I eventually stopped using the service. I forgot about it until I received a notice that my files would be deleted because my account is over the free plan limit. That part is understandable.
However, I’m having trouble downloading my materials. Some files are over 150 GB, and the app has been giving me issues. I managed to manually download some files through my browser, but now I’ve received an email saying that my traffic exceeded the 20 GB daily limit. Since my files are much larger than that, I’m stuck.
What can I do? How can I contact someone at Dropbox to help me download my files so I can then delete my account?
Thanks in advance.

Hey amidav - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
The email you received about the traffic you mentioned would be referring to your shared links, not the files you download. Can you let us know more about the issues you're having with downloading your files through the web so that we can make sure we're on the same page?
Thanks!

Hi Walter,
Thank you for the speedy response.
So I can continue downloading my materials through my web browser? The app seems to show an error code 0 when I try to copy the file from it.
Thanks again,

Yes, you should be able to download your files with no issues amidav. As for the error code you mentioned, can you send me a screenshot to have a visual too?

If you're over your account's quota limit, it's normal that you can't do this via the desktop app amidav - syncing stops when you're over quota, that's why.
As for the download issue, can you try clearing your browser's cache and/or using another browser as well as rebooting your computer and internet router?

Should I buy a one-month subscription just to be able to download my materials?

That would be up to you amidav - depending on your quota allocation and current needs of course.

Well, I’ll first try doing it through another browser.
It’s a bit odd that Dropbox asks you to free up your storage but gives you all these difficulties when you actually try to do it.
The frustration is huge, I must say. I’m starting to think that moving all my stuff off Dropbox was the right call.Oh well, I’m hoping that I will succeed.
Thanks for the help. - Walter22 days ago
