Just to make sure, with your preview, you mean a Dropbox-preview?

 

Cause the Dropbox preview, when logged into our account, also show the date as MM/DD/YYYY (print screen)

 

In the file the date properties are set to DD/MM/YYY.

And as said before, when the link is shared with someone outside the team, it also shows MM/DD/YYYY

Yes, with the Dropbox preview page, it shows the correct format.
