Dropbox Community ModeratorHi CharlotteR, is it safe to assume that you're able to see the thumbnails on these files, when the app isn't running, or is this not the case?
Megan the thumbnail images are not visible regardless of whether the Dropbox app is running or not.

If so, can you attach a screenshot of them?

Sorry to jump in here, CharlotteR, but could you please send us a screenshot of how the files appear when you restart your Finder?
Megan this is what happens after I relaunch the finder. The downloaded images now have thumbnails. The online-only images don't.
This is regardless whether Dropbox is running or not.
If I then set those synced images back to online only, the thumbnail previews remain. But if I then relaunch the finder, the thumbnail previews disappear again.
