It sounds like this is related to the OneDrive app.
Have you tried contacting Microsoft for further support on how to disable or modify their screenshot feature in their app?
They may be able to provide more specific advice on this matter.

How would one efficiently contact Microsoft?
It seems obvious Microsoft has designed this function (as a OS add-on) to give Microsoft a competitive advantage over opt-in apps like Dropbox. My opinion, any application that transports data off of your local computer's memory or storage should require informed consent to opt in to the transport of your data.

That's not really something we can help with here as this is a site for Dropbox support; not OneDrive. You'll probably want to start on Microsoft's own website and see what support options are available.

I came here for the same reason. Stupid OneDrive has hijacked my screenshots, which have been uploading to Dropbox for years. I've disabled OneDrive completely, but Dropbox is still not saving the screenshots. and yes the option is ticked in the Dropbox settings. It's very frustrating!
