Hi there MoSn1 and welcome to the Dropbox Community 👋
Thanks so much for circling back with that update. I’m really glad to hear everything’s working properly again with your MP3 playback on Android 🙌. It’s easy to overlook, but uninstalling and reinstalling the app can often be the secret sauce when things get stuck (especially on mobile where cache and playback issues can sneak in 😅).
By the way, I’m Theresa 👩💻, one of the community managers here at Dropbox HQ. Since you’re using Dropbox on Android, I’d love to know... how does Dropbox fit into your everyday routine? Whether it’s for organising playlists, backing up photos, or keeping work files handy on the go, it’s always inspiring to hear how people are using Dropbox.
Hope to hear more soon!

Hi, after a few days of working fine - the issue happened again: mp3 files stopped playing.
I uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, and now it's working again.
I've been using the app mp3 for years. Not sure what is causing them to fail?

Hi, I think the issue may be rated to "Make Available Offline"
After resolving the issue yesterday by uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it. I checked my favourite regular mp3's as "Make Available Offline" - same as I have always done.
However, I had the issue again today.
Today, I managed to get the mp3 working after I unchecked the "Make Available Offline" option.

Hi, thanks for replying
Any idea why "Make Available Offline" can cause the mp3 to stop working?

Hey MoSn1 - this definitely sounds weird. Can you let us know your device's OS version and the version of the Dropbox mobile app installed there?

I'm on Android version 12, and Dropbox app version 446.2.4
Thanks again

Hey everyone, thanks again for reporting this!
Can you try again and let us know if you still face the same issue? It should be resolved now after the new mobile update. If you still come across the same problem, please update your mobile app, and try again.
Thanks!

Hi, thank you so much for following up!
I deleted the mobile app, and downloaded it again from Google Play store.
I am now on version 448.2.8
Unfortunately, I am facing the same issue: if I select the option to "Make Available Offline", the mp3 file does not play.
When I untick "Make Available Offline", and then close the app and open it again - the mp3 file starts to play.
Can you please check if I am on the correct version: 448.2.8
Again, thank you for all your support

Hi MoSn1,
Thats for your response!
No worries at all, as you said, you're on version on 448.2.8 and this fix deployed with 450.2.2.
Instead of downloading it again, try updating the app directly from the app store.
Let me know how you get on!

Hi,
Thank you for replying.
I have updated the app to 450.2.2 and am pleased to confirm it is now all working as expected. I am able to use mp3 files now with the "Make Available Offline" option ticked.
Thank you so much for resolving, and for all your support. It is appreciated.
