Search of Offline files does not work with MacOS Ventura 13
Documents that are offline only are not part of the search on the Mac.
This is especially relevant if I am looking for a phrase.
Example: "How we add value" does not show up on Spotlight search...

4 years agoHi Craig M.18, how are you today?
Do you notice the same behavior when you search for a phrase on your Dropbox account online?
Could you send me some screenshots, in order for me to have visual too?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I've used the online installer and it made no difference. I'llg uess that it has something to do with moving the DB folder from favorites to locations.
This did not occur before the last DB upgrade. Using the search function simply does nothing. No error or banners just no action at all.
Please help!

Hi Megan,
I just noticed a test folder that copied on my mac, updated to the DB web version....Good When I deleted the copy on the online DB version, it did not delete from my mac.
Does this help?
I'm on v162.4.5419. On the top menu shown.
Thank you.

Thanks, Megan. Here is the search for the phrase online:
Here is spotlight. The photo below is the screen shot I took to add to this feed.
Here is the offline document in dropbox - in PDF - the PPT is somewhere on my hard drive as well - that's what I was looking for:

Hi Craig M.18, there are a few reasons you might be experiencing issues with searching for files within Dropbox using Spotlight.
Following the update where the Dropbox folder was moved to ~/Library/CloudStorage , Spotlight sometimes does not re-index the folder until after it is opened for the first time.
Could you try opening the Dropbox folder in Finder (it should be under Locations in the left sidebar), and then allow a little time for indexing to take place before retrying Spotlight search?
Another reason is that the Spotlight index may need to be rebuilt, could you carry out the steps in this article (the article mentions the ‘Documents’ folder but you need to use the Dropbox folder instead)?
