Will the owner know if I download a file they shared through a link?

Someone shares a PDF file using the link. I clicked the link, and I was asked to register a Dropbox account to download the file.  I am using my personal email to register this software. But I don'...

Hey scma, thanks for reaching out to us.

If you created a Dropbox account and accessed the link while logged in to that account, the owner of the file will be able to see if you access the link.

Depending on their Dropbox plan, they might be able to see when you last accessed the link as well.

They shouldn't be able to see who downloaded the file, though.
