Do Dropbox files vanish during a computer factory reset?

Hi,

As the title says,

Do Dropbox files vanish when you do a factory reset on your computer?

It seems like it because I have read that if you delete the files it also disappear from the dropbox.

But I want to have it confirmed.

Is there no way you can store it online while doing a factory reset?

Thanks!

Regards,

Nick

    Hi NickArrow

Dropbox files would only get deleted IF you deleted them from the drive before you did the reset. As a Factory Reset would be done when Dropbox wasnt running (i.e. its from the BIOS / set up programs) it wouldnt actively delete the files in your own Dropbox

      Thank you for your reply!

Ok, so the files in my saved Dropbox catalog which I have uploaded online won't get deleted when I do a factory reset of the computer?

This is important to know for me so I don't loose everything.

      Thank you!

      Regards,

      Niklas

        No they wont.

If you are really concerned you can always unlink Dropbox first 🙂
