Missing all files from desktop but I can see them on mobile

I have Dropbox on my desktop computer and mobile, same account. The stored files were the same. Today I went into the desktop version and can't find any of my files or folders, yet they're on my mobile version. Why can't I get to my files from the desktop version?

At the same time, Dropbox is trying to sell me with more storage, costing more. I don't need more storage but can't help but wonder if the missing files are related to this.

  • Thank you, Walter for your time. It was a different account, which I didn't know about. Not sure where it came from but resolved.

Hi Roger Hastings - sorry to hear about your missing files.

Could you let me know the Dropbox desktop app's status as shown in your system tray/menu bar? Are you not seeing your Dropbox folder on your computer or just some of your files?

Also, have you taken a look at your events page to see if you can find any information related to your files there?

As for your account's storage space, you can navigate to your plan tab to see your account's quota.

Let me know of any updates!
