5 years agomy files disappeared.
I installed the dropbox on my MAC and it automatically uploaded some files.
However when I entered the dropbox, it is not there. it is an important file and I cannot miss it. Can someone help me? I already looked at the list of deleted files and there is nothing. I did it on Tuesday, the 26th, and on the 27th, I was no longer. I already did the backward process but the file just disappeared. I don't know what else to do! when i try to open the file in Word, it appears that it is in the dropbox in the following path: users / paulobarros / dropbox / mymac / desktop / filename but when I open the drop, there is nothing. HELP PLEASE!!!

Hello anonymous, let's see what we can find.
It looks like computer backup was enabled, which adds computer folders (like Documents, Downloads, and Desktop) to your Dropbox folder.
Has the desktop app finished syncing?
You can see that by hovering or clicking on the Dropbox icon that's on your menu bar.
If so, could you also have a look at your events page to see if there is a record of the file being added to your account?
Check it out and let me know of any updates, thanks! - anonymous5 years ago
Hello,
Yes, the computer had finished syncing.
I can't find the archive anymore. It's not in my computer or dropbox!

Hi anonymous, could you check your recycle bin on your machine to see if the files are there?
Can you locate any deleted files on your Dropbox account to recover the files? - Gaidanna3 years agoNew member | Level 2
My important files disappeared. I don’t see any option to recover them. I didn't have backups as cloud means that you can have access to them everywhere. Unless someone deletes your valuable files. Is there any way to recover my files?

Hey Gaidanna, sorry to hear about your files missing.
Have you looked into your deleted files page and your events page, to see if you can locate and restore them?

I lost all me files since 2016. No one to speak to. Tried different browsers - did not help. Drop box charging me for more space for months but I have nothing!! Want to delete my account but wondering if there is any other place I should look before deleting. I'm not tech savvy. any suggestions?

Hey sramondelli21, sorry to hear about your missing files.
When was the last time you logged in to the account with the files and had access to them?
Are you currently logged in to the same account, or is it possible that you've logged in to a different account by mistake?
And can you check if you can find your files in your deleted files or events page?
- sramondelli213 years agoExplorer | Level 4I checked in July and august. It seems to have happened when my computer crashed but my drop box files should have been saved in my account. They are not in deleted files. There’s nothing anywhere. And I’m getting charged for additional storage for the files that are no longer there

Was it the paid account that had all the files inside, sramondelli21?
If so, are you currently signed into it? Which plan do you see that you're on, in your account settings here?

I am paying $11.99/month and notjhing is in my files.
