Storage says it is full, but it is not
Hi,
I'm new to these forums, so please bare with me.
I have an account with folders shared with me by my employer. We have plenty of storage, but when I log in I see a message every time saying I am almost out of storage. No one else on my team sees this when they log in. I did previously have a large folder with a lot of images in it, however I have completely deleted that as well as deleted it from the trash.
When I click on the plan page, here is what I see:
Personal Dropbox spaceUsing 1.93 GB of 2 GB
Regular files (0 bytes)
Shared files (1.93 GB)
Unused space (74.18 MB)
I would love to speak with someone at DropBox directly, but it does not look like that is an option.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks in advance!
Hi jen2fe
You are nearly out of space - you only have 74mb of space left based upon the data you posted below. Shared folders use up the quota of every person within the share UNLESS you are a licensed team member of a Business plan. So, your colleagues either have more space, a paid plan or are part of a paid team.

Im unable to join a folder that has been shared via email. Getting message that storage is full. But its not.If you're receiving a message that your storage is full, that means the shared folder you're trying to join is larger than the amount of space available in your account. You'll need to upgrade to add the folder to your account.
I can only view using a texted link. But no option to download. You won't be able to add the files to your account if you don't have enough space, but you should still see a Download button allowing you to download the files to your computer. Can you provide a screenshot of what you see? Be sure to mask any private information.

What does your usage say on your Plan page? Have you checked your Backups page?

Hi Vika85, this is indeed an official Dropbox domain.
Usually these type of emails are sent out, when an account is nearing the 75% quota limit, which seems to be the case here.
If you don't wish to receive these emails, could you try unsubscribing? You should be able to do this if you visit the email, and scroll to the bottom.
As for the screenshot, you should be able to click on the camera-like icon when responding back to me, and upload your screenshot. Let me know if this isn't the case.

Im not sure how am I supposed to send over a screenshot? I can only post but not upload. The email is: no-reply@em-s.dropbox.com
If you and your team believe this might be a phishing email, would you kindly confirm? - Nancy3 years ago

Hi from me too, Vika85!
Do you mind sending over a screenshot of one of these emails you keep receiving? I’d like to have a visual.
Just make sure to mask any personal info that may be showing, like your own email address.
Apart from that, can you clarify what’s the email address of the sender?

And what about the used space Vika85?
Are you near your account's quota limit? How many emails have you received about this so far (recently)?
- Vika853 years agoExplorer | Level 3Hi Walter!
Thank you for getting in touch!
I have a Dropbox Basic plan with a personal Dropbox space of 5.75GB in total. The last email I have received was on September 3th, and I have been receiving the emails rather often since a while now. I’d appreciate any help!
Best,
Veronica
