Camera uploads keeps uploading deleted files to my Dropbox account
We use Dropbox to back up our photos when we travel. As we are traveling, I cull through the iOS photos on my iPad or my iPhone and delete the ones I don’t want. Sometimes I crop photos and edit them. When I’m finished, I open the Dropbox app and the camera upload starts. This has worked beautifully in the past. However, on this trip to Europe, it is uploading even the photos I deleted, and if I edited a photo, it’s uploading the original and then creating another copy with a -1 in the File name. What can I do to get this to stop. Why would it be uploading deleted files too. I don’t open Dropbox until I’ve done all the editing and deleting. Thanks for any feedback
Thank you. I just don’t ever remember experiencing this behavior before, that it would upload in the background even when the app wasn’t open. I have disabled it to avoid this and can just turn it on when I’m ready to upload. Thank you for your feedback

Hi there Joycegtx1951 - thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you please clarify the exact OS version of your devices and the version of the Dropbox mobile app installed there as well?
When did you first notice this happen by the way?
Any additional information or screenshots are more than welcome!

iPad IOS 17.4.1
Drops 374.2.2
I’ve just noticed it on this trip. As I said deleted items are uploaded and if I edited a photo, dropbox uploads the original and another copy-1. Thanks for your help.

Hi Joycegtx1951! Hope you don’t mind me jump in.
If your camera uploads feature is On at all times, then it’ll automatically upload any photo that’s added to your camera roll, no matter if you delete it later on or not.

If you don’t wish that, you can perhaps check your phone settings this way and see if you can disable this.
