Hello, In catalina I am no longer able to drag files in finder into the dropbox folder. The selected object just sort of springs back into place and will not enter the Dropbox folder.

I thought I would share this - I have been waiting for the permanent fix from Dropbox, which will BE this fix - it has not come out yet, so I thought I would share the fix that worked for me. I think this is all they are going to add into an update but I am not sure about that. Can you see if this works for you? You may have to restart your computer if it doesn't work, but I didn't have to.Open Terminal, and enter this command (all one line):IFS=$'\n'; for path in `python -c $'import os\nimport json\nfor key, value in json.loads(open(os.path.expanduser("~/.dropbox/info.json")).read()).items():\n print value["path"].encode("utf-8")'`; do echo "$path"; xattr -d com.apple.quarantine "$path"; done Then try the drag and drop again!

Yes, using finder I can navigate to the Dropbox Folder, make files and folders and move files out.All I know is before Catalina it was working fine. After Catalina it is not. ...and Dropbox is really freaking expensive now for this.

Since Drop box uploaded this new interface it is impossible for drag and drop. Moderator you did not answer the previous persons problem.I cannot drag and drop my files into folders also. There is no set up screen to change this. please let me know the answer to this issue.

Hi Fiona, I'm having the same problem as well after updating to Catalina on my macbook pro. Cannot drag a file into the dropbox folder.

I'll add mine to this as well. Having the issue also. Only on my Macbook Pro's though, not my iMac. Very strange problem.

Abukasem, I can see you have responded with updates in your ticket. The agent assisting you will get back to you as soon as possible.

Please let me know if you tried the workaround offered on page 11 of this thread and if it works for you. As well as if you have provided all the appropriate permissions to Dropbox, as suggested by my colleague Jane earlier in this thread.

Hi Fiona - Just replying to say that although I confirmed my email address as requested in an email from Dropbox, I’ve heard nothing further about the alleged process of fixing the problem. When can I expect to hear from whoever you’ve kicked this over to?

(BTW - yes the workaround works but I am of course seeking a fix to the problem, not a workaround.)

I have the same problem. Can't drag and drop files to the DROPBOX folder in my favourites bar. However I can drag and drop them to other sub-folders (of dropbox) that are also in the favourites bar.

Same exact problem everyone else is reporting and none of the suggested solutions seems to work. Cannot drag and drop folders into the Dropbox folder under the "Favorites" sidebar on Mac.
