Can't see uploaded files
A couple of months ago, I uploaded three dozen files, but I can't see them. The links for all but one work, but when I uploaded the errant file again, and tested its link it STILL doesn't work. An...

3 years agoHi again, DHoesly! Thanks for the extra info.
To be honest, if the shared link works normally via your web browser, then this is most likely related to Microsoft Word, rather than Dropbox.
What I’d suggest, as the next step, is to have a look with Microsoft directly. They may be able to isolate what’s happening, and provide a solution.

Once again, I don't see the reply I sent you yesterday. Sighhh-h-h.....
So let's say that MS Word is the problem for that particular file. But why would the other two dozen links in the same file work just fine? I tried pasting the link into a new browser window and the file displays perfectly, but when I paste it into either that particular file OR a new file, it consistently shows the error message. Any more thoughts? Thanks in advance, Nancy!

You might want to check out this topic about a similar issue. If it doesn't resolve the problem for you, I'd suggest asking for help on the Microsoft forums.

Thanks for the hint, Rich! I followed the instructions in that link, except I used "ForceShellExecute" as the registry value instead of "Value Name: ForceShellExecute" (which is how the instructions read). However, although the Dropbox link works fine in the URL window, it still fails when put as a link in a Word doc. Guess I'll try the Microsoft forums.... Again, thanks for trying!

Rich--- forgot to mention that I had the same failure even after re-booting (which I thought might be necessary, the registry having been changed).
