Solved

Content created inside a shared folder, doesn't isn't visible to anyone else.

Hi There, I'm hoping someone can help!

My colleague has created folders within a shared folder. He did this all on dropbox.com.

Strangely most of these folders have not synced, and they cant be seen by anyone else who is a member of the folder.

Folders he has created before and after this have synced and show up for everyone else.

Not sure where to start trouble shooting as hes doing it all online so it cant be that its taking time to sync.

Hi SophieCollinsMSL -- I'm wondering if you're using "Selective Sync" on your Desktop to hide some of these folders.

Would you mind checking this? You can find this by navigating to your Sync Preferences in the Desktop app (click the Dropbox icon in your menu bar, click the account menu/avatar in the upper-right corner > Preferences > Sync tab > Selective Sync.)

If you look for the folders there, are they checked or un-checked? If they're un-checked, they'll actually be hidden (i.e., not synced) in your Desktop application, and they'll only appear on dropbox.com.

    Let me know!

    Cheers,

    Ryan

Hey SophieCollinsMSL let's jump right into this!

Do you check for his updates locally inside your Dropbox folder, or on our website?

If you or any other member checks the shared folder online, are you able to see the changes there?

I was wondering if it's possible that he renamed the folder? I'm asking because the rename  will only affect their account, so there might be confusion there with the different folder names.

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan, thank you for getting back to me so quickly!

The folders are on the online version (doh, should've checked). What can we do to get them to show on our desktop? The app is showing that everything is up to date. And other files/folders added since have synced.

Hi SophieCollinsMSL - the other thing that might be worth checking is whether there are any special characters in the folder name: https://help.dropbox.com/organize/file-names
