"Copy Dropbox link" option not working on macOS Sequoia 15.1

I use a Basic version of Dropbox. The Quick Actions menu works on my MacBook Pro (2023) running Sonoma 14.7.1 but not on my other MacBook Pro (late 2023) running Sequoia 15.1. Share and Copy Dropbox link do nothing upon right clicks. I appreciate any help in solving this problem.

  • The final 3R solution worked: I reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled MacOS, and reinstalled Dropbox. It now performs normally.

I went through the steps in the linked document, which took a couple of hours.

BTW, when I issued the following commands in Terminal:

    sudo chown -R "$USER" ~/Dropbox
    sudo chmod -R u+rw ~/Dropbox

    sudo mv ~/.dropbox ~/.Trash/dropbox.old

The system returned "unknown" or something similar, but I completed the remaining lines anyway. Then, I reinstalled Dropbox and downloaded and updated all the files.

    Unfortunately, the same problem remains.

    Thanks for that BasicUser

I'd also love for us to try one more thing. Can you perform an advanced reinstall this time using these steps?

If this doesn't work, I'd be happy to open a ticket on my end for you.

Would you mind sending over a screenshot of the options you see when you right click on a file/folder inside Dropbox BasicUser

Thank you for the suggestions. I have three devices and re-installed Dropbox desktop, but it still has the same problems.

Hope you don’t mind if I chime in, BasicUser. If you don’t have more than 3 devices currently connected to your Dropbox account (you can double check this here), please try reinstalling the Dropbox app and let me know if it fixes the issue.

Yes, only Transfer a file will open a dialog box; the remaining eight items under Quick Actions are not responsible.

    Thanks, @Hairong.

Nine of the items under Quick Actions only Transfer a file... works.

Would you mind clarifying a bit here? Do none of the options work, except Transfer?

Thank you for the quick reply. File sync is working well. My desktop is v211.4.6008. Nine of the items under Quick Actions only Transfer a file... works. I have the same version of Dropbox desktop on my other MacBook Pro, and Copy Dropbox link works just fine. I assume my Dropbox account is good.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, BasicUser.

Do the rest of the Dropbox right-click options work for you as normal?

What's the sync status and version of the Dropbox app, when you hover your mouse over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar?

Let me know and we'll go from there.
