Does the desktop app on macOS throttle uploads?
Does Apple throttle uploads from ~/Library/CloudStorage ? I see long (15 minute) pauses in uploads to Dropbox when syncing.

3 years agoHi o12johns, thanks for posting here.
From the location of your Dropbox folder, I understand that you’re using Dropbox for macOS on File Provider.
Is this behavior something you noticed after the upgrade, or not really? If yes, is this only happening when your computer’s battery is running low?
In general, when files are syncing, each file is divided and compressed into hashed components, transferred via secure data transfer, and then encrypted and stored on our servers. During an upload, the transfer speeds are also dependent upon how quickly your computer can process and compress the components of the files to make them available for upload.
However, I’d like to know if this is something that started happening after the update.
Keep me posted.

Computer is iMac, so no battery. Yes, I began to notice the long pauses in uploads to Dropbox AFTER I switched to FileProvider. There will be four files waiting for upload, and they will stay that way for maybe fifteen minutes. Then they go. Nothing else going on in machine, so not a load problem. Could this be Apple messing with Dropbox?

Already did that. They are all at Don't Limit. Also proxies are at No Proxy.

Thanks for checking, o12johns! Are you experiencing the same behavior, even if you upload a small file via the desktop app, or does this only happen with groups of files?
What’s the current syncing status of the Dropbox app?
Also, I’d like you to right click on your local Dropbox folder, go to “Get info”, and send me a screenshot of the next window that will appear.
