How can I choose more of my folders to sync to my Dropbox folder?

When I installed my Dropbox account on a new Windows 11 device, I selected a few current folders I needed immediately to be synced offline.

Now, I want to add more Dropbox folders to the desktop availability in File Manager and cannot find a way to do that.

I have installed the Windows desktop application, but all it does is open File Manager to display my current local Dropbox folder.

There is nothing to be able to access any settings within Dropbox.

In addition, what I want is to have additional folders available locally, but to keep the files offline only until I select certain files I want to have available offline.

    Welcome to the community mattquint!

If you add the folders you want to sync to your Dropbox folder, from there you can right-click them individually and select if you want them to be stored locally or only online.

Is this what you're looking for, or am I misunderstanding?

Now, I want to add more Dropbox folders to the desktop availability ...

What you're looking for are the Selective Sync settings. You can access Selective Sync from the Preferences menu in the Dropbox application.

Make sure you're clicking the correct icon. If you're just using the one on your Start menu, all that does is open the Dropbox folder if the application is already running.

You need to click the small Dropbox icon in your system tray (near the clock). This screenshot is from Windows 10 but the principle is the same.

This refers to making files Online-only or Available offline (i.e. stored in the cloud or locally). Files that are Online-only will still appear on your computer but they don't take up space. When you access an Online-only file, Dropbox will download it to your computer temporarily so you can open it.

If you want a file to remain on your computer, you can right-click it and select Make available offline. You can also select Make online-only to make an Offline file Online-only.

Thanks. I finally got the Taskbar application feature to pop up and now can follow all the instructions.
