How can I hide members' email addresses from other members using the shared folder?

Hi it has been brought to my attention that when I share a file with a member staff they can click on all members before clicking into the file and they can view everyone's email addresses. I have never notice this before and my staff do not feel comfortable that everyone can see there private email addresses. Can I hide members information from others?

Thanks

Michelle

Hey Michelle Barry, thanks for posting here!

Currently there isn’t a way to prevent members of a shared folder from seeing the other members.  Shared folders are intended for collaboration, hence why.

However, if you do share your folders with a single user then they will only be able to see what is shared with them, and therefore not be able to see other shared folders and the members of those.

Another alternative that you can perhaps try is to send a shared link to these users and disable viewer info (in case the users that access it are already logged in to their Dropbox account).

    Hope this helps!

Hey Michelle Barry - you could give it a go and let us know If it helps with what you had in mind.

Otherwise, you might want to consider using shared links to your files and password protecting them or setting an expiry date too, if needed.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

That's a different feature. It refers to being able to see who's actively viewing files in the folder. Even if you turn that off, any member of the shared folder will still be able to see all the other members of the folder, including their email address. There's no way to prevent that.

Unfortunately not. There is no way to hide collaborator details on Shared Folders.

Viewer information is a different system / process.

Hey Michelle Barry, what steps did you follow when creating a shared link?

Also, would you mind clarifying where you were able to see the email addresses? Feel free to send me a screenshots in order for me to have a visual, but omit any personal info shown there.

    Thanks!

Here are the screen shots you can see it says how many members have access to the folder, and then you click on the members a list will appear as above and if you click on each name there email address is then shown?

    Hey Michelle Barry!

It looks like these are members that are added to your folder with viewing permissions.

I'd suggest that you either remove them from the folder using these steps, or create a new folder. Once you do that you can then follow the steps mentioned here in order to create a shared link, and then send it over to them individually.

If you have any questions, I'm always at your service.
