How can I remove some users from the list of external collaborators?

I can gave access to some "Joe Random" to a file he needed to download.   Fine.  All good. 4 years later, the file is deleted, and his name still comes up on my list of external collaborators. ...

Ok.  I have done that with some success.  Files that I have deleted, keep popping up.  Frustrating.

For example:
Folder A 
File B inside folder A.  File B had given access to Joe Blow.  

Erased the whole folder years ago.

See that Joe Blow had access to file B.  Removed access from his name.  
File and Folder both reappear in my dropbox. 

Joe Blow's name is still in my Collaborators list even though I am not sharing files with him.  

I want to clean out my collaborators list!
