I plugged an external drive to my computer, but it's backing up 0% to Dropbox
I've recently signed up with Dropbox Backup and added my external hard drive.
I enabled backup for this drive, and selected 'Backup Now' rather than waiting for it to schedule a backup at 9am tomorrow morning.
Since doing so the drive remains at 90-100% usage, but not a single file has been uploaded in over 4 hours. It shows 0 bytes transferred in the Dropbox app.
How do I get it to do it's job and actually start the backup?

Hi Kalak, and thanks for posting on our Community.
Did you unplug and plug the external drive again and still nothing?
Can you send me two screenshots of what you see here and here?
Keep me in the loop.

@Nancy - Screenshots above. This is what happens as soon as I open the Dropbox app, and it stays like this even though it's not uploading/backing up a single byte of data.

Hey Kalak - thanks for the screenshots and the additional information.
Can you please also clarify the size of the external drive and how much data you've stored there?

@Walter- It's a 10TB Seagate drive and there is 8.34TB of data on the drive.

Thanks for clarifying that for me Kalak
If you navigate to the sync issues tab from the desktop app's icon, do you see anything listed there?
If not, please let me know and I'll reach out via email to have a further look internally.

Thanks for the additional screenshot and clarifying the app's version too Kalak
I've just sent you an email to investigate, so please have a look at your inbox and we'll take it from there.

Hello, I am having the same issue as this person, also with a Seagate Drive. It has 912GB to backup, and my Dropbox account allows for 2TB. I just upgraded specifically so I can have automatic backup peace of mind but at this point it's not functioning at all.
I am on version 232.4.5926 and followed the steps above to no resolution.
Would it be possible to message me to help resolve this issue too?
Cheers

Hi Eliket! Sorry to hear the same thing is happening to you, as well.
Can you tell me the exact steps you’ve tried so far, just so that I can have a clearer image of the situation?
I’d also appreciate it if you can send me a screenshot of your backup’s progress as it appears at your Backups page here. Please send me an extra screenshot of your desktop app’s syncing status, too.
