I'm getting an error when clicking on the "Add to Dropbox" button for shared files.
I am receiving emails with files shared with me from a client. However every time I click on the button in the email "Add to Dropbox" I receive this error and I am unable to access the files.

Hey EB10! Hope you’re well and thanks for your post.
Are you seeing the exact same error on a different browser/incognito window?
I'd also like a screenshot of the button you click on, right before the error appears.
Finally, have you received multiple files from the same client? Do they all present the same error?
Keep me in the loop for more info.

Hi Nancy,
I have tried using Chrome, Incognito and Safari, all result with the same error message. I have received multiple shared folders from the same client and they all result with the same issue. I should note my colleague received the same folders and were able to access the files, the difference being I work on a Mac and they work on a PC.
Here is the email and the button I click on prior to receiving the error. Note: I had to remove the names and folder names due to confidentiality.Thank you!

Thanks for the screenshot, EB10! Appreciate it.
Can you ask your client to unshare and reshare those files with you? I’d like to see if the behavior will persist then.
If that’s not possible though, which I can understand in this case, let me know and we’ll try something else.

Can I just ask EB10 how much quota do you have available at www.dropbox.com/account ? Is it enough to accept the share? If not that could be the issue.

Unfortunately, that is not possible at this moment. They have shared with me 4 separate folders and all have the same issue.

I am using the free version and I confirmed my colleague is also using the free version who does not have the same issues.
I set up my account specifically to access the files from our client, I do not use it for anything else. - Megan2 years ago

Hey EB10, let me also jump in here!
You mentioned that you try to access the shared folder by adding it to your Dropbox account through the email that was sent your way.
Have you tried accessing your sharing tab online, to see if you can add the folder that way?

Hi Megan,
I have checked the Shared section and I do not have any folders there.
To clarify, did you mean I create a new folder and have the client upload files there instead?
Thanks. - Megan2 years ago

Hey EB10, it's odd that you don't see the folder when visiting your sharing tab.
I'd also suggest that the owner tries to remove and add you back into the folder, but if this isn't possible by any means, then we'll try to find a different way to resolve it.
