My Dropbox desktop app is stuck syncing 66 files on my macOS Sequoia.

Hello,

My dropbox desktop app for macOS Sequoia 15.3 is stuck synching with 66 files.
This happened to me last year and it took months to get folder synched again properly.

Not sure what to do, any suggestions are welcome.

I've done the classic steps of restarting mac, restarting dropbox etc etc

I really would like to avoid re-installing and re-synching everything because that took a period of months to do, since it would not allow to let me synch all files at once.

I see, thanks for letting me know about this andreasgrill

Can you click on the app's icon and let me know if you see any sync issues reported in the relevant tab ('view sync issues' option after clicking on your avatar)?

Also, have you tried logging out of your account and then back in via the app's preferences

Are you able to navigate to your Dropbox folder and find the files that haven't synced yet by their syncing icons?

    Hello Walter

    No sync issues.

I've tried logging out, I'll try again.

I can see the files but not interact with any of them since they have the blue synching icon next to them.

So you're unable to copy or move them out of your Dropbox folder and then back in andreasgrill

WalterI can move them out, but when it copies to the desktop, the file is inoperable because it's Zero bytes

Hi again, andreasgrill! Thanks for all the extra info you’ve provided so far.

From what I can see on the screenshot you’ve attached from your Dropbox folder properties, it currently contains more than one million files, which could be related to the issue you’re currently having (in general, syncing more than 300k files locally on your desktop app may cause performance issues).

Can you clarify if most of these files have been set as online-only, by any chance?

Perfect, thanks for clarifying that. Can you send me a screenshot of the files that are currently stuck syncing in your Dropbox folder? I’d like to have a visual and see what else we can try after that.
