Sync only once a day
We use dropbox across our entire company which is generally amazing. However, recently we have run into a problem. We have a remote peice of equipment that is running 24/7 writing data to csv files. These files are stored and synced via dropbox. The problem is that dropbox sends them every time the machine write a new line which is every 15s. The files can get quite large over the course of the day and by the end of the day the system is consuming GB/hr.
Is there some way to tell dropbox to sync a certain folder only once a day?
Thanks
Thanks for these ideas. Unfortunately, dropbox is being used on a remote computer. IE, there is nobody around. Furthermore, there is only one folder that needs to sync once a day. It is important for the rest of the folders to sync normally.
This seems like one of those features that would make Dropbox usefull for a lot of applications. Maybe I will add it to the share an idea section.
Again, thanks for the help! Sorry to shoot down the creative ideas.

Hi there,
At the moment it's not possible to schedule the sync. A workaround would be to apply the Selective Sync sync to the folder in question and manually disable it when you wish the folder be synced.
To learn more about Selective Sync, please read this Help Center article:

You could also use a task scheduler to start and stop the Dropbox executable on a schedule.
