Syncing speed is super slow -almost 0 speed- for uploads and downloads.

slow, basically 0 speed, upload/download.

2 different locations(addresses). 4 different computers(1 there, 3 at home). switched laptops. fully erased 1 laptop, installed fresh windows, installed all updates. firewall, antivirus blah blah blah. nothing helps. im lost now. need this problem to be solved

Thanks for letting us know about this, nealnino.

Have you done a speed test on these computers?

Also, can you check the app's preferences with these steps, to make sure syncing speed is not limited there?

Let me know what you find.

hi! ive done everything) both locations(different addresses) have 350mbps up/down, ping 4.

everything else works like usually. google drive uploads/downloads fast, like usual.

just dropbox is giving trouble. i used it for years, but its just started to do it couple of weeks ago.

as i said, i even reinstalled everything on clean laptop, i made sure all the windows updates installed. dropbox just killing the speed. sometimes spontaneously it can start work normal for split second and go all the way up to a spedd, and download few files and then go down again, sometimes it can work normal for a longer period(hour or so) and all files are getting exchange normal.. but usually its stuck on zero speed(or close to zero, like 15kb/s) and all files are just hanging in there. also when dropbox speed is down, it seems tat even website is working slow.

and i really need to fix this. i can not work on google drive. i have to use dropbox.

Hi nealnino, thanks for the added info!

Are you certain that you have no other software that could be monitoring the Dropbox folder or app?

Have you contacted your ISP for further assistance on this matter?

Also, have you checked the bandwidth that the Dropbox app uses, by following the steps here, to speed up syncing?

Let me know how it goes.

as i said. 1 laptop is absolutely clean. fresh windows. firewall of, windows defender off.

although it doesn't matter if those apps are on or off, i tried it both ways, restarting laptop after each time. result is same. it might work fast as usual for some time, it might fork good for a few seconds after restart(laptop/dropbox/wifi), but slowly start do decrease the speed up to 12-17kbs/s, or even 0.

    here is screen right now

it does absolutely nothing. it says downloading, but doesn't show any speed, so files are stuck. now it might spontaneously decide to work as normal and download all files in a minute, but you never know when it will happen, now or at midnight. i did called my ISP (att&t fiber internet), they were also confused in the situation and couldn't help. they said that my internet is working just fine, based on their tests.

to me it just looks like it someone throttle the speed. either dropbox or my ISP, but isp said they don't do it.

Walter i cleaned my hard drive, installed clean windows. and this didn't help.

how do you think restarting dropbox/router will help? i mean i do it, sometimes it help for 1 sec, sometimes for few minutes, but usually it does nothing. drop box speed is living its own life,

i found a couple of posts here with same exact issue, no one have exact steps to resolve problem. somebody fixed it wit changing MTU, somebody used VPN.. i tried both.. it works 1st time. then next time i open laptop, issue comes back

    Hi nealnino,

I'm sorry to hear about your Dropbox issues. You may try these steps to see if it helps:

Check Internet: Ensure your connection is stable and fast.

Update Dropbox: Make sure you have the latest version.

Adjust Bandwidth: Go to Preferences > Bandwidth and select "Don't limit" for upload and download rates.

Disable LAN Sync: Uncheck "Enable LAN sync" in Preferences > Bandwidth. Pause & Resume Syncing: Pause syncing, wait a few minutes, then resume.

Reinstall Dropbox: Uninstall, restart, and reinstall Dropbox. Check Conflicts:

Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall to see if it helps.
