"Unable to upload icon" error message. What does it mean?
Every time I go to upload a folder to Dropbox, I get this message "Unable to upload icon". And then I choose "Skip this file". Once everything is uploaded, all the files seem to be there, so I can't tell what it was talking about. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to this. Can anybody help me? What does this mean? Thanks!

Hi Allie4, let's jump right into this!
Is it safe to assume that you're using the website when uploading content? If not, feel free to correct me here.
Provided you're indeed using the web, can you let me know if you notice this behavior on a different browser too? Does it only happen with folders, or files too?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Im4, are you referring to the Dropbox desktop application, mobile app, or the site directly?
Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!
- Im42 years agoExplorer | Level 3The app. It works if I select upload file function from within dropbox app. But when I try uploading the same file from the source like Adobe PDF and selecting dropbox, it gives the error security message.

Just to check again, do you mean the desktop app or the mobile app? What OS are you running running on your device?

It sounds like this might be an issue with the Adobe app if it can't upload to the Dropbox servers, since it works normally from within Dropbox.
Have you tried contacting them for further assistance on this matter?
